John "Johnny Hockey" Gadreau was struck and killed along with his brother while riding bicycles in South Jersey Thursday night. The brothers were in town to serve as Groomsmen for this sisters wedding which was slated for today. Johnny was a standout hockey player in the South Jersey suburbs....was a star at Boston College and as a member of the Calgary Flames, Columbus Blue Jackets and for Team USA. He was a married father of 2. Sweater Nite offers our sincerest condolences to the extended Gadreau Family........fair winds and following Seas, God Bless.
a wonderful world of alcohol and sometimes hockey ramblings....a great place to get drunk or fantisize about being drunk.

i wanna grow up, to be a politician
And take over this beautiful land
I want to grow up to be a politicianAnd be the old U.S. of A.'s number one man (Roger Mcguin)
But spare the rod and spoil the child to help them feel secure
And if I win election day I might give you a job
I'll sign a bill to help the poor to show I'm not a snob

In a land that's known as Freedom
how can such a thing be fair (Graham Nash)
check your sanity at the door.....this episode of revisionist history is dizzying.
Ol Zuckerberg NOW says that the biden-harris administration pressured facebook to censor anything and everything that went against the Dear Leaders narrative on the China Flu....even jokes were to be suppressed........and the social media king went along for the ride.........he now regrets not speaking out and pushing back......could it be the arrest in France of Pavel Durov ( The Russian version of Elon Musk) the creator of European social media company Telegram ? is the FB King reading the tea leaves and growing concerned that he may be jailed for his crimes by the next administration ?
Missing from this mea culpa was an apology to all the people that were mocked, discarded and shamed for daring to speak out or even question the "official" narrative as written by Fauci the fraud.
What about all the doctors, nurses and medical professionals that raised serious questions (not accusations or lies, just questions) and were subsequently silenced , ridiculed and labeled for daring to speak ? 20 years after 9/11 the Govt is now handing out cash settlements to the throngs of people that have developed cancer and were in and around lower Manhattan on that day.......(still no charges against Christine "the air is fine" Whittman) I wonder what the fallout will be if we ever learn the side effects of the vaccine , I wonder what that cash payout will be ........but what about those that lost their jobs and livelihoods ? not because they were insurrectionists but because they were reluctant to put something in their bodies that was untested.......where do they go to get the lives and credibility back ?
Zuck also said they did in fact demote the Hunter Biden Lap top story because the FBI told them it was a fake.......oh well....water under the bridge....move on.........disgusting.
and Now Kamala is running ads with photos and videos of TRUMP's Wall ..........and NO , the uber progressive is not denouncing the wall between the US and Mexico , but rather she is playing on the stupidity of the average voter to somehow believe that she is in some way in favor of closing the border.....no mention in these ads that she has been in charge of the border the past 3 1/2 years.......silly facts and details...go away.
2+3=BEEER and we will need plenty of it to get through this election cycle.
It's dying, if you believe in justice
It's dying, if you believe in freedom
It's dying, let a man live his own life
It's dying, rules and regulations, who needs them
Throw them out the door

When the Dream came
I held my breath with my eyes closed
I went insane,Like a smoke ring day
When the wind blows (N. Young)
If I do come back at all
But you know me, and I miss you now.

Can't you hear that Rooster crowin
Rabbit runnin’ down across the road
Underneath the bridge where the water flowed throughSo happy just to see you smile
Underneath the sky of blue
On this new morning, new morning
On this new morning with you (Dylan)
oh what a glorious break from the heat......
today we bid farewell to Old Orchard Golf Course with one final round before she is shuttered for good......although if you were to believe reviews on the internet it would seem she threw in the towel last summer.......apparently the upkeep has been lacking and since i am bringing two foursomes of world renowned golfers from as far away as Long Island, well i hope the rumors are unfounded......check back tomorrow for a happy recap and full review.
2+3= FORE
So happy just to be alive
Underneath the sky of blue
On this new morning, new morning

LIES, drippin off your mouth like dirt
Why, why you have to be so cruel?
Lies, lies, lies I ain't such a fool ( Jagger-Richards)and the hits keep coming for that old farm boy Tim........seems he is a bit of a serial liar....
Fantasy Island says in 1995 the All American high school football coach was being chased by an unknown vehicle and so out of fear for his safety he sped up..........later when the vehicle turned on their flashing lights ol Tim pulled over.....he says his years as an artillery soldier have left him with a hearing impairment and so he couldn't understand what the Police officer was telling him to do during the field sobriety test... ...he says the Trooper let Tim drive his own car to the station and was given a speeding ticket and allowed to go home....he says he wasn't drinking and the drunk driving charges were dropped.
The truth is Tampon Tim was drinking.....he then got behind the wheel and was clocked at 96 MPH in a 55 zone.........he failed the field sobriety test and was driven by the Police to a local hospital where he was administered a blood test which confirmed he was above the limit (BAC .128 verse the limit of .1) He pleaded guilty and admitted in court that he was in fact drunk. He was forced to resign his position as Football coach, but now he is stating that his campaign staff is to blame for the confusion,
so he mispoke when he said he was in combat while actually serving in Italy...and now apparently someone on his staff took it upon themselves to rewrite the events surrounding his DUI......poor guy is clearly the victim here.
2+3=BEEER and big trouble for Tampon Tim
Why, why you think me such a fool?
Lies, lies, lies, honey, that's your rules

Lazy stadium night
“Strike three,” the umpire said
Batter have to go back and sit down ( Dylan)

In my Memory
the town that I have loved so well
where our school played ball by the gas yard wall
and we laughed through the smoke and the smell (The Dubliners)
i have a few days off......was sitting in the yard last night watching the Mets and the A's game.....they have a day game thursday....was thinking about heading out to citifield......a flood of memories came back to me......as a little tyke i was an Oakland Athletic fan....and i have always remained an A's fan throughout the years although my primary rooting interest is the miserable Mets.......but I was enamored with the A's from the age of 7 when they beat the hated Red Legs of Cincinnati........maybe it was the uniforms that first caught my eye...that incredible blend of Green and Gold.....and that 1972 Fall Classic is the first one i can remember sitting in front of the Television on 76th street and watching with my brothers and my Father.......i think i was the only one rooting for Oakland......anyway....Joseph Oden Rudi made an incredible leaping grab against the wall at Riverfront stadium saving 2 or 3 runs and preserving a key road win for the Athletics......he naturally became my favorite player....#26......i copied his stance and mannerisms......i always asked for his number in little league at St Ephrem's and then OLA.....i loved the whole team but Joe Rudi was my guy.
I remember one day I was in school, 3rd grade ....I have a good memory but i had to go to baseball reference for the exact details......May 1 1974....a Wednesday afternoon......around 9:30 i was told pack my bag and to go to the Principals' office....uh-oh...what now.......when i got there my Mother was waiting for me and she told me we had to leave....the Nun in charge wished my Mother good luck and as we walked out of the school she told me not to say a word......about what ? i had no idea what was going on.....i was surprised to see my father sitting in the Blue Pontiac station wagon and my brother Brian in the back seat.....why wasn't my Father at work ? when i got in the car they told me the NEWS......my Dad had the "Company Box Seats" (Pfizer) for the Yankees vs the Oakland Athletics matinee at Shea Stadium ... the Yankees were playing at Shea while the Olde Yankee Stadium was being renovated....my Father would never take us up to the South Bronx, especially in 1974; it was a war zone.....but the family friendly Shea Stadium was a different story.....i was estatic.
I can still see the field in my minds eye.....it wasn't my first Big league Game....i had been to Shea a few times and even made one visit to the Old Yankee Stadium ( that's a story for another day) but this was different.......these were my hero's ......it was brilliant sunshine and the A's wore their Hunter green Tops and brilliant white pants.......and wouldn't you now it....Joe Rudi homered........like i said i remembered that part and i remember Catfish Hunter was the starting pitcher...but i looked up the rest.......there were only 7600 fans at the game and the Yankees rallied to win 4-3....i know we left early because my Dad was coaching OLA baseball that night and they had a game on Shore Rd.....i remember hearing in the car radio on the way home that Herb Washington (world class sprinter) entered the game as a pinch runner and thinking how cool that was.
as i sit here this morning i am leaning against going to the game tomorrow.....50 years in the rear view window......i could never recapture the excitement of that day...so why try.....maybe it's best to leave some memories alone on the shelf. Thanks to my parents for giving me that special day.
there I spent my youth and to tell you the truth
I was sad to leave it all behind me
for I learned about life and I found a wife
in the town I loved so well

Hey, said my name is called disturbance
I'll shout and scream, I'll kill the king
I'll rail at all his servants ( Jagger-Richards)'Cause where I live the game to play
Is compromise solution
Well, now what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock and roll band?
'Cause in sleepy London Town
There's just no place for street fighting man, no

Bent my Ear
to hear the tune
and closed my eyes to see (Hunter-Garcia)
Oh Jerry.....all the years may combine, but it sure doesn't get any easier.......how grateful i am to have spent sooo many evenings in your presence in arenas and theaters , large and small, up and down eastern seaboard. I am thankful for the technology age we live in, so we have access to all your albums and live performances....and thankful that the GD had the foresight to not only record every show....but to allow and encourage their fanbase to do the same......i'll never forget the first time i saw the tapers section in person....hundreds of Deadheads clustered on the floor of the arena with microphone setups ....amazing
anyway , Jerry left us 29 years ago this day ....i will take some time this morning, afternoon and evening to raise a few glasses and bend my elbow...and my ear, to hear the tune.
2+3=BEEER

God save the child that rings that bell
It may have one good ring, baby, you can't tell
One watch by night, one watch by dayIf you get confused, listen to the music play (Hunter-Garcia)
timing is everything.....it used to be when something big happened in the world it would be talked about, reviewed and dissected by our 24/7 news channels for a few weeks....not anymore......the Republican nominee for President was shot 3 weeks ago.......within 10 days the waters were muddied by the FBI, was it shrapnel , was it a bullet ? the SS diversity chief steps down....the acting head acts like a total douchebag in his testimony on the Hill.....the story kept changing, new videos emerged and still the FBI cant access the shooters phone.....and now everyone has moved on.
before the big news of sleepy joe's backroom deal to get 4 Americans home from Russian prison, there was some other news that has now been kicked off the back page before it was practically reported.
9/11 planner Khalid sheikh mohamad cut a plea deal to avoid a potential death sentence. a month before the 23rd anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks ; the DOJ has cut a deal with 3 terrorists that will spare them their lives. I have a lot to say, but i won't......i will just point out that this is why we are a weak nation......and if you do not learn from past mistakes, you will repeat them.
on the brighter side of the planet.....the Sweater Nite Summer tour 2024 rolled into Las Vegas last Nite to Celebrate the Birthday of our Captain and a visit to the Sphere to see Bobby ace and Dead & Co....I wasn't there, but one of our plankowners was there to Represent.
