Let the old Man Uncle Junior enjoy the pomp and circumstance in the neighborhood, let everyone pay their respects to him as if he were running the Family; but at the end of the day Tony and his crew enjoyed all the money and Junior had all the headaches.

Old man Joe Biden was dangled the title of President....for a lifelong loser.....3 or 4 failed attempts at the presidency and now suddenly the party says you can be our guy........BUT......we still call the shots....Joe took the bait....he goes to all the dinners....his son shakes down foreign businessmen, and when he walks in a room they play hail to the chief........and all the horrible socialist agenda items that are being implemented.....well, history books will record them as Joe Bidens' legacy......and obama and susan rice will never face the music......they get to play Punctus Pilot and was their hands of this administration.

but alas......all good things come to an end......i fully suspect that shortly after the mid-terms.....sleepy joe will be forced to step down and the left will get their First Black Female President ...the demonrats will pat themselves on the back and pander to the blacks......and kamala will know she only has 24 months to put her stamp on the country and without fear of having to run for a re-election she can not win....she will instead steer the ship further left.

as i sat at my computer yesterday and watched the horror unfold at 36th street and 4th ave in my beloved Brooklyn....i couldn't help but think about the classic Brewer & Shipley song above......and before the blood dried on the platform the police rushed to put out a statement declaring this was NOT terrorism....without a suspect identified they were still ready to declare this was NOT terrorism.....why?

Because terrorism has lost it's meaning...it now apparently only defines attacks by Arabs against everyone else...and the media and Police are so concerned about these poor sandjigs that they rush to denounce terror ties for fear of upsetting our moslem inhabitants. the attack yesterday was terrorism, the victims did not know their attacker, were randomly selected and were most absolutely terrorized and traumatized by the events.....but society today is more concerned with the criminals than they are with the victims. 

case in point.....a 16 year old hispanic girl was shot and killed by a stray bullet on her way home from school friday in the Bronx.......Toni Yates of ABC news on saturday morning went to great lengths to tell us the shooter had NEVER been in trouble before ( tell that to the corpse ) and now he was facing murder and his live was over........seriously ?  why don't you interview the grieving Mother and see if she cares about the piece of shit that got high and murdered her daughter ?

dementia joe can give a million speeches about ghost guns and kathy hocul can stand on 36th street and say "this stops now" blah blah blah......we do not need new laws.....we need to enforce existing laws and send the criminals away for a long time....we need to prisons to be switched from modified country clubs to a place that nobody wants to visit....let alone be incarcerated for any length of time....we need to stop defending and excusing the criminals and start standing up for the victims........it sounds o simple, how did we loose our way ?

the world of sports....often a punching bag of mine, but still a source of humor , enjoyment and inspiration on occasion.

Brian Boyle.....i was watching highlights on the NHL network the other day and they showed a young boy....8 or 9....front row.....holding a sign proclaiming that he beat Cancer and asking for players in warmups to sign his poster.......Brian Boyle, an all around good guy and one of my all-time favorites did more than that ....he came over to the boards and had a private chat.....gave the boy a fist bump through the glass and posed for pictures.....Boyle himself is a Cancer survivor....a lukemia blood cancer threatened his life in 2017......and i will never forget his first night back in the league.....on Hockey Fights Cancer night, he scored the game winner.....for a guy who has been playing over 15 years for 7 or 8 teams and has a total of 140 goals...that was a big deal.

Seth Beer.....it was opening Day in Arizona.....it was National BEER day....and so it was fitting the Seth Beer came to the plate in the bottom on the 10th of a tied game....and well the rest is the stuff of which legends and funny tales are born....of course he went yard and won the game with a Homer.......the Dbacks play by play guy reacted as if it was Mazeroski's homer in game 7 to beat the Yanks...but why not, it is opening day.

the Masters.......wish it was a little warmer yesterday, but i managed to pack a cooler and sit in the yard and watch the final round....i had Sandgae IM in the infamous Br Murphy pool.....and although the little korean came up short, at least he gave me hope for 4 days........something very American about sitting in the yard on the Sunday evening of the Masters.....of course i reached into my golf bag and took a few swings with a 3 iron.

talking hockey playoffs......be careful what you ask for ....so i'm not asking for anything....just some observations.....the 4th place team in the Adams family will probably swing over to the Patrick Division and vice versa ...so personally i would rather finish 2nd and play the penguinis and or Caps.....let the Canes win the division and face either Boston or Tampa in the 1st round.......Boston will wear down and become easier to beat as they playoffs get to the 2nd or 3rd round......and although TB is beatable...i would never want to play a defending Cup Champion in the 1st round.

10 games to go and Kreider is sitting at 49 goals.......i mistakenly thought Adam Graves was the single season Goal leader for the Rangers when he netted 52 in 1993-94.......totally forgot that Jagr reset the mark at 54 in 2005-06......i can't even remember that now....but let's hope Kreids gets 55 or more.

can't really root for the mets until they get rid of the BLM cancer in the clubhouse , but i still love baseball and i'm glad its back....especially working remote and sitting in the yard watching wed and thurs matinees......also something very American about that.

last night after the Broadway Blueshirts dispatched of the penguinis w clam sauce.......Igor Sheterkin pitched a shutout and Artemi Panarin scored a big goal......(2 Russian born players that could have easily stopped talking to the media after the war in Ukraine began) instead they faced the local media like they always do..........Panarin made a joke that Shesterkin said he would share some of his contract if he started to score more goals.........and then the quiet Rookie Shesterkin quipped that he "would share , except Biden is squeezing me on taxes".   ya gotta love that......this is a team that is easy to watch and fun to root for...good natured banter and great Chemistry.....watch out is all i have to say to the rest of the NHL

Last Night the Ukraine release footage of a Russian Large Paratroop ship in the port of Berdyansk smoldering after being bombed......the Ukraines Tweeted that the occupiers are "BURNING WELL, GLORY TO UKRAINE".

I remember hoping in the early days of this invasion that the Ukranian Capital would survive the first weekend....never thought for a second we would be watching this turn around 30 days in.

In case you missed it...Chris Drury had a very good trade deadline......for years the Rangers and Knicks have mortgaged the future of prospects and draft picks for a Big Name , aging superstar at the trade deadline.....but Drury managed to add a cache of solid players for depth and defense without subtracting 1 player from the current roster , he traded 1 prospect and a few mid round picks and got back 4 guys that should play a role in what may be a deep run into the playoffs......and last weekend the team showed they can go on the road and beat two of the best in the Eastern Conference with solid (playoff like) wins at Tampa and Carolina........there's definitely something special brewing in the worlds most famous arena.

lastly......in what has become a longstanding tradition, two members of the Sweater Nite Family will join the line and March as Deputy Grand Marshals of the Bayridge St Patrick's Day Parade. just to recap.....the NY Post broke a story about a recovered laptop that was turned over to the FBI and belonged to the son of a Presidential candidate...it was a month before the election.....the laptop contained emails that linked the candidate and his son to illegal payments from Russia/China/Ukraine...."hold 10 million for the BigGuy".

the mainstream media sprung into action.....Twitter suspended the NY Post account.....Facebook prevented users from sharing the Posts' story and 50 current/former intelligence offficers signed a letter calling the laptop as Russian Disinformation....Candidate Biden snapped at press questions and called the story "GARBAGE"....this isn't a silly tom cruise movie....this really happened....

now 16 months after the election the liberal NY Times has declared that the laptop and its' contents are real.....not one signer of that infamous letter would even comment yesterday...let alone apologize...

The White House Press Secretary has said that Hunter Biden doesn't work for the United States and so they won't comment.....seemingly unaware or unfazed by the fact he is the Son of the President or that the President himself is on record discrediting the story...a clear lie.

i bring this up today because so many Americans are shocked that citizens within Russia are not aware of the origins of the Russian invasion into Ukraine or have seen the daily horrors of attacks on civilians, schools and children's hospitals. ......well friends when the media controls the story and discredits stories that are unfavorable....this is what you get.....the funny thing about free speech is that it is supposed to be right for everyone....not just the ones that agree with you.

side note..same story.... a group of Yale law school students Stood, Heckled and shouted down speakers at a bipartisan panel on free speech ( of all subjects). DC Circuit Judge Laurence Silberman was so disgusted that he sent an email to all US Federal judges advising them of the incident and asking that they "think twice" before hiring any of these students.......stop and think about it......these are not college freshman teenagers , trying desperately to be relevant on the planet.....these are adults in Law school...these are people who wish to one day be considered as judges.......the job of a Judge is to sit and listen to Both sides of the case before them .........these snowflakes are so fragile that they can't even listen to a panel of bipartisan discussion.....and they want to sit in judgement of their peers one day ?

the older we get , the more Saint Patricks' Day morphs from a wonderful celebration to a day of sad remembrance.......the Giants of March 17th have all moved on......long gone are the childhood shenanigans, the great gatherings of family in fine spirits and all the comradery that followed. But just like Tim Finnegan we find the will to rise and shine.....for the Whiskey and the Beer still need to be drunk.....that bottle of Jamesons won't drink itself......the hardened stoic race of people that the Irish are, we bury those feelings and raise a glass or two many. Today thousands will march in NYC for the first time since the china flu....millions will belly up to the respective bar and slake their thirst with pint of Stoudt....we will sing the songs and quietly think of the family and friends that aren't here, and we'll drink another round for them for fucks' sake. 

We shall eat the corned beef....although the symbol of immigrant Irish/America  has nothing to do with the traditions or cuisine of the country of Ireland. The Irish found themselves in an unloving british settlement of the new world 1762....before America declared her independence......work was scarce (irish need not apply) . they were broke and they missed home .....the cheapest cut of meat was the corned beef.....so they bought in bulk and adopted it as their own, washed it down with Beer and MARCHED.......they Fucking marched right up the dirt road that was 5th Ave in NYC and paid homage to the Patron Saint of the Catholic Church....SAINT PATRICK......and 260 years later .....they'll do it again.....no race has ever overcome so much , so fast; they came to the country unwanted and within a generation they were running the fucking show. The joined the military and created the Police and Fire Depts....all they asked for was a hand up...not a hand out. 87 year old woman that worked as a speech coach for this disabled was pushed to the ground for no reason by a stranger in NYC over the weekend and yesterday she died from her injuries.

homeless being shot dead as they sleep on the streets of the Nations Capital and NYC.....family of the shooter say HE is the victim because he had issues and needed help.

teenager working in Burger King shot to death for not emptying the register fast enough during a street induced wealth redistribution program (Robbery to you and me).......2 kids working in Mcdonalds stabbed over the weekend by a nut.

two workers at the MOMA were stabbed by a madman who was angry because his membership to the museum was revoked, his family says he too is a Victim....had issues / needed help.

and the bombs keep raining down on the Ukraine.....apartment buildings, childrens hospitals, nurseries and schools.....makes no difference to Putin.

This much madness is too much sorrow.

so i dumped my Mcdonalds and Pepsi stock last week before they eventually announced that they were pausing business in Russia.....not a sacrifice on my part....truth is i didn't own much and i enjoyed a nice profit and fair dividend the past 8 to 10 years that i owned both.....it was a symbolic gesture on my part.....same as when i sold my Coca-Cola stock when they offered training to their employees on how to be LESS WHITE.......i'm just grateful that JPM and XOM didn't force me to make a decision(they both quickly announced they were distancing themselves from and unwinding their russian assets), those two stocks are the staples of my self directed IRA. The truth though is that in every situation around the globe, money talks.......if more people spoke with their wallets, i think many of these corporations would be less likely to spit in the face of their loyal customers.......less likely to spit on America while cozying up to our enemies.....less likely to jump on that soap box and preach to the choir.

well i think our friends in Poland overplayed their hand......flushed with pride from all the goodwill the world was showering upon them; they swung for the fences. Poland was floating the idea of sending MIG fighter jets to the Ukraine, and as a sovereign nation nobody could or would try to stop them. They then announced to the world that they would be delivering the MIGs not directly to the Ukraine but rather to the US air base in Rammstein Germany, for the USA to hand them over to Ukraine after a crash course on operations.......and that the USA would be replacing these MIGs by giving Poland newer fighter jets from our fleet. This is a European standard move to lure the USA to the front lines and ensure that we are knee deep in the fight. Now we can debate whether we should be involved and ultimately our Congress should debate and decide, but for Poland to try to shame us into joining the war directly/indirectly was not cool. In my opinion the US was justified in rejecting this plan. If we were fighting Mexico and the USSR was behind a move that gave Venezuela weapons so that Maduro could supply Mexico with Jets to attack our boys.... well i would consider that an act of war on behalf of Russia.

let's take a break from the war this friday morn and talk a little hockey....if you are a gambling man you can probably drink your whiskey and shake your head today....last night the team with the worst record in the league beat the team with the best record......how does that happen ? 

The lowly depleted Coyotes of Arizona somehow knocked off Colorado , the top team in the NHL thus far . 25 yr old rookie goalie Varel Kameljka faced an Avalanche of shots (43) and somehow walked away with a 2-1 win.

slightly less surprising but still a huge upset was the Canadians De Montreal going into the Saddledome in Alberta and knocking off division leading Calgary in overtime. This is a fierce North of the Border rivalry, so anything can always happen; and the Habs are playing better of late.....BUT the Flames are considered by some ( mainly me) to be the best in the League and the eventual Cup Winner in June.....(Flames over Canes is my prediction).......just two more reason to love this game.....can't wait to watch On the Fly this morning and Jackie Redmond this afternoon.

locally the fishtix continue to slide into oblivion......the first year in their new arena may come with missing of the playoffs...ouch.......they lost at home to the Canuckleheads , and the two teams they are chasing for the final playoff spots won (Caps & Bruins).

I was critical of the President for not banning Russian oil......but i should not have been...here's why.

First and foremost we should NOT be buying Russian oil.....but as a capitalist and someone who is most concerned with Government overreach...I should have instead made the case for the Private sector to do the right thing.....I have always complained about Big Govt sticking its' nose where it does not belong....from vaccine mandates to affirmative action...and so just because i like the outcome, i can't suddenly be okay with the Govt telling big Oil how they should do business. Even though the Central Govt does have the authority when it comes to National Defense, it is still better when private citizens arrive at the right decisions by themselves....it is counterproductive when a heavy hand of govt dictates to the people.

And this morning I am happy to say the private sector is "doing the right thing".... First it was British Petroleum and Shell and yesterday Exxon followed suit. (that is my biggest stock position in my IRA  and so i am glad i do not have to think about selling, i bought 1,000 shs at the onset of the pandemic between the price of $38 and $50....would hate to sell tday at $82) 

I also found an article on Bloomberg that said Banks are rethinking loans to Russian oil exploration....tanker shipping companies are refusing to ship Russian Oil, and finally American Oil companies are refusing to accept delivery. (Weds there was a tanker filled with Russian oil selling for $20 below the market rate of $106 a barrel, and there were no takers) I will even begrudgingly afford some credit to the "Cancel Culture" , as i think these big corporations have seen how individuals have been cancelled for their decisions of the past (right or wrong) and so they may be afraid that down the road they will face backlash for the economic decisions made today. (Being slow to join the boycott)

in these disturbing times it can be difficult to see the difference between the dark and light, but one needs to look no further than Poland to see the LIGHT. The response of the Polish Govt can be explained as a necessary move as they see themselves as the next domino should Russia succeed in taking control of the Ukraine, But the response of the Polish people is nothing short of heartwarming. An incredible and unprecedented outpouring of support for the refugees. As the Nation opened their border to all, the People took it many steps further.... greeting refugees at the border and train stations with food, water, clothing and support. Those with homes or spare bedrooms opened them to strangers, and some who did not have space to house people instead rented apartments or hotel rooms in the cities with their own $$ on behalf of refugees. These are people that have not forgotten what it is like to live under the Russian fist of oppression, these are people with compassion for their fellow human beings. Imagine how scared and frightened these refugees must be.... most of them women with young children ...their husbands remaining in the Ukraine to fight; and they arrive at the border on foot with just an overnight bag.... and then to see warm , welcoming people on the other side. If you believe in God, you believe that God sees this too.

As the russian convey, some 40 miles long; crawls along the main roads at a snail's pace....one has to imagine their utter destruction and annihilation if the Ukraines had a few F14-Tomcats at their disposal...like the ones we stupidly sold to Fucking IRAN in 1973 before they revolted against the Shah.......as Bob Dylan reminds us "Man has invented his doom" and the US government never fails to confuse and disappoint.

The next 48 hours will be interesting.......have to think this war is unpopular in Moscow.....the Kremlin prevented a stock sell-off by simply closing their stock exchange yesterday..can't do that forever....the Ruble is worth pennies.... interest rates are north of 20%.....British Petroleum and Shell have cut ties to Russia at a great expense to themselves.... others should follow. Russian access to SWIFT has been greatly restricted...but the oligarch's still buy Gucci leather goods from the Gindaloons. ..Sadly the US is still buying Russian Oil....Joe Biden is so worried about the midterm elections and so afraid of the progressive wing of his own party that he refuses to allow the American Oil and Gas industry to bail us out of this crisis.....if Biden were to make an announcement tonight during his State of The Union address....and simply state to the American people "Hey , Gas Prices are gonna skyrocket for a while and we may indeed have gas shortages for a while until we get back up and running, But we need to support the Ukraine as Leaders of the free world and we are not going to buy Russian oil effective immediately ",,,if he said that tonight....i think the American public would give him a pass on the issue high gas prices....i honestly do.....that, along with .more and more talk of War crimes and trials at the Hague would have some of the people in the Russian Military thinking twice about targeting Ukranian civilians.....lets just hope that someone wakes up sleepy Joe when and if the Nukes start flying.

Putins' legacy? . ..biden is more concerned about staying green and avoiding high gas prices at home than he is about human beings laying down their lives to slaughter with a yearning to stay free......we have lost our way.....it may be time for the Good Lord to wipe us off the map. Stop Buying Russian oil, turn our pipelines back on, grant permits for fracking and drilling on Federal land to make up the shortfall for the oil we are no longer getting from russia.

Kick Russia off SWIFT thus making it impossible for any nation to continue to buy or sell anything to/from Russia........Moscow will revolt on Putin in 72 hours and bring an end to this war.

instead, we put silly sanctions that do nothing....and we created carve outs to avoid the sanctions.....for instance...the sanctions do not apply to Italian leather goods ......seriously.... guess who demanded that? the miserable gindaloons are more concerned with  selling Gucci bags to Russian Oligarchs than they are with Ukranians being slaughtered in the streets......the world should remember that the next time Italy is occupied and crying for help.

I think Putin thought Zelensky would flee to Poland and the west in a Helicopter the minute the first bullets flew.....and then the Ukranian army and citizens would lay down their weapons and watch the Russian tanks roll down main street without resistance.....BUT he has NOT......he is still posting videos from the streets of the capital despite the USA offering him a safe exit ( we suck)......he has vowed to fight to the death........and quite frankly i am not sure Putin planned for this........what now ?  destroy the city with firepower while the world watches?  and if he captures or kills Zelensky , what then? he doesn't seem to want to occupy the country forever but rather he wanted to chase the govt and then install his own puppet (like Belarus) ...if he destroys the cities , he owns that ...and they will have to pay to rebuild....that costs $$......and if Zelensky becomes a martyr, the citizens of Ukraine will never willfully accept being under Russian control.....so if he keeps Russian troops there the guerilla warfare they face will never stop...ever.........despite the overwhelming superiority of their weapons and troop numbers, the russians may well be painted into a corner......it's not too late for the West to help , but don't hold your breath/

Socialism doesn't happen overnight.....a free capitalist society like ours will not go to sleep on monday an independent nation and wake up Tuesday a socialist dictatorship........change like that takes time and you need the masses on your side......so you make everyday life as miserable, hopeless and unaffordable as possible.....inflation takes your paycheck and the only way you survive is with the financial crumbs the GOVT gives you every month...a person will never bite the hand that feeds them.....if the demonrats keep handing out small checks ( not life changing sums, just enough to stay afloat) the masses become dependent on that form of Govt and will be reluctant to vote them out.......you need villains......Big Oil is the problem today, you ban fracking, ban pipelines, give away our oil independence, and when gas prices inevitably go through the roof , well you convince the average Joe that these BIG Corporations are swimming in profits and gouging the American public.....  and soon after we have rate hikes you will hear Bernie and AOC blame the banks for your suffering ( never mind that the FED Reserve dictates the rates and while we were at 0% interest for years the big Govt encouraged average Joe's to borrow more....borrow $$ for college (don't let someone crush your dreams) , Borrow $$ for that luxury gas guzzling  SUV ( you deserve it), take a big mortage and buy that home, go on vacation and put it on Visa ......and when the rates rise and the avg guy can't keep up with his bills .....well....get the pitchforks and go after the Banks that gave you the dam credit card. (Remember occupy Wall Street? that was when the Professors with tenure convinced the students that they should be mad at the banks that loaned them the $$ for tuition and NOT the Institutions that were charging 40K a year for room and board and classes taught by Teacher's assistants). And the Govt ? well we are so far in national debt that we have to start cutting welfare, unemployment and everything else because we are bankrupt too, just like you

So now you have a broke, desperate, miserable public and they are conditioned to believe it's the dam banks and big oil companies that are the problem. And a federal Govt that claims bankruptcy too and can no longer give you any monthly stipends.......and so they suggest that the Federal Govt Nationalize those two industries for the GOOD of the Nation...and once they are nationalized, we will cap gasoline at $2 a gallon and forgive most of your credit card debt ........gee ? where do i sign up ? sounds good to me.

And once the Government takes control with your blessing they can basically call any shot they want, and you will comply...what choice do you have?  who's next?  Nationalize Medicine? already in the works.....take over the media? yeah well they are 90% there.......and just like that we are Venezuela ...adios amigos

Mask mandates in Schools.

Why?  despite all the evidence to the contrary; are the teachers Union and the demonrats going full court press on keeping school kids in masks? As every other bad govt decision goes to the sidelines, this one digs in. Why are they willing to fall on their swords for masks that don't work? and only in schools? (nobody at the super bowl wore a mask and nobody cared) Because they are grooming our children to be submissive and just do what the government tells them...no matter how stupid..the kids i grew up with challenged authority at every step of the way....we broke every fucking rule there was....we pushed back for the sake of pushing back (even if we didn't really care about the rule)...if a teacher said A , we said B... we drank beer and smoked pot in the fuckin schoolyard in broad daylight during the week and we didn't give a shit about the punishments..i didn't really develop a respect for law enforcement until the guys i grew up with became Cops......but this new generation of people who are conditioned accept what they are told....like sheep......don't question or push back, they just go with the flow and rat out their classmates if they have a birthday party without masks.

If the Bengals are to win, i think it will be because they will be able to keep the pass rush on its heels with a heavy dose of running , and that deadly quick out to Jamar Chase.........if Joe Mixon can turn one or two 10 yard gains into 40 or 50 yard TD's....he might even steal the MVP at a robust 3500-1..........but again, my heart is looking for ways the Bengalis can win, but my head is saying Rams.

tough month for old Neil......the man who once so loved American Freedom that he wrote songs about it suddenly turned into the KGB in his attempts to silence and stifle free speech he doesn't agree with....it's sad how many vaccinated people are so insecure in their decision to get the jab that they want everyone in the same boat with them , as if they deep down fear that the vaccine was rushed and may have horrible consequences and they don't want the unvaccinated to be able to survive and declare they were right......i got the jab ( 2 of them) but i defend the right to choose.....unlike abortion, which is the murdering of another human being with a heartbeat; the unvaccinated are only risking their own lives .....and should be allowed to make that choice.

Back to Neil......he missed a great opportunity to lend his voice to a grass roots movement that is sweeping the nation and being watched around the globe.......sadly his corona fears and newfound political stance will not allow him to speak out in support of the Canadian Truckers....in case you missed it , and of course the US media is largely  ignoring the story....but Thousands of Canadian Truckers united in a FREEDOM CONVEY and descended on the Canadian capital city of Ottawa.....at the heart of the matter is a new restriction by the Canadian Govt that ALL truckers that transport goods into the United States must be fully vaccinated.......so truckers that drive alone insulated inside their cabs and never really come into contact with 3rd parties have to get the jab anyway.....even as cases decline and are less and less severe, the Canadian Govt put it's foot down.....ignoring the fact that in the first 9 months of the pandemic, before there even was a vaccine; Truckers were hailed as heroes for putting themselves on the front line and risking their own lives to keep essential goods moving across Canada and into the United States....Prime Minister Trudeau  fled his version of the white house in fear and then after being portrayed as a chicken, his minions went on the offensice and declared the Truckers were guilty of everything from using foul language to littering........funny they had nothing to say during BLMs' "mostly peaceful"  burning of  cities across Canada........even as Canadian Citizens came out in Droves on highways Overpasses to Cheer on the Truckers......Trudeau declared them public enemy number 1........not to be outdone, the communist pigs in silicone valley california had to get in on the act.........a Gio FUND ME acct was setup to raise $$ for the Truckers......they collected $10 million dollars practically overnight, and then the self loathsome left stepped in and said.....we are not going to actually distribute the $$$ you donated to the truckers because we think they are bad guys......and instead we will decide which worthy causes should get the 10 million (look it up, i swear i'm not lying....i urge everyone to avoid GO FUND ME forever)......this is even worse than when the Red Cross decided too much $$ was raised after 9/11 for the victims and decided to divert donations that were intended to the victims and instead sent the money to earthquake victims in shithole countries and any other leftist cause they could find.........the Canadian Truckers sued....and this morning GO FUND ME caved and will at least return the donations (less fees) to the people that gave the $$.....they still can't find it in their heart to do what their company charter is all about....that being raising money for grass roots causes.......nope......hopefully they too become extinct........and with all tis raging north of the border....you would think that Canada's favorite son, albeit an irrelevant former shell of himself; might have something to say ??? nope

i received Dave's Picks #41 in the mail Monday night and yesterday i sat at my work computer and gave it a listen......Baltimore Civic Ctr May 26, 1977...definitely their finest year....i loved all the different incarnations of the Dead, but after many years of listening to the shows in detail, well...77 was in a class by itself.....it was soo good.....joy and sadness.....at the same time....jerry's guitar licks spoke to me....they danced and floated around the room like butterflies.....the band was like a magnificent locomotive rolling across the countryside.....and jerry was the engineer...they opened with "Music Never Stopped" and by the 2;30 mark it was crystal clear that Jerry CAME TO PLAY....it was one of those nites......joy that i saw soo many good ones....joy that the live music was captured and protected all these years later to enjoy.....sad that we will never again be in a cozy arena on a winters night and see Jerry do his magic act....but it was a hell of a start to my day.

And It's February.....forget stymie history...this has always been the month of Kerouac and Cassidy for me....Neil was born on Feb 8 in the back seat of a car passing through Salt Lake City on the way to California from Denver...and died on Feb 4th at the age of 41.........Jack, a Pisces; was born March 12th 1922.....would have turned 100 this year.....he too died before his 50th birthday....at the age of 47 in St Petersburg Fl. February is also the month i start reading "On the Road"......i have read it every other year for the past 40 years or so......might have missed once or twice.....but have definitely read it cover to cover 20 times in my life....never gets old for me....perfect pre spring reading.....coming out of winter....and with each passing year and re-reading of the classic novel, it just reminds me that the ROAD is gone.....

i feel empathy for the youth of today....that slice of Americanna is gone forever...the innocence that existed....the individual identity that each city, state or territory had is gone.....we are a homogenized nation....same banks, same starbucks and mcdonalds, same everything.....the corner bars are disappearing and have been replaced with corporate umbrellas that own a wide variety of diverse establishments.....chili's, outback, panera for breakfeast....doesn't matter where you go in the lower 48, we have a corporate outpost for you....serving up all your favorites just like home.......im not angry....i am actually grateful that i traveled the world and my own country as much as i did before it was extinct....i had steak and eggs in the Piel Street Bar in Montreal.....Drank Coors at Coors Field, had a Golden Road IPA on the pier in Santa Monica, smoked a joint in Golden gate Park near Haight -Ashbury, .ate in Gene & Georgettis whilst in the windy city, had a Sam Adams  in the Cask & Flaggon, visited many of the old ballparks and hockey arenas before they were replaced and my memory is strong....I had a Falaffel from a street cart in Haifa at 3:00 a.m., drank Rakki in Antalya Turkey, had a Tusker Beer in the Nairobi Hilton and imagined i was Hemingway on the eve of an Elephant hunt, I drank a Guiness across from the St James gate, i had a jambon and fromage( ham n cheese) sanwich on a warm baguette with butter in a little shack off the pier in St Tropez and drank red wine in the french country side....partied in Benidorm with Bath Separatists', watched Malvern defeat Geelong in Austrailian League Football, had Grandma Gretzky's pierogies in Toronta , had a mojito in miami and oxtail stew in Guantanamo bay, drank moonshine in Mississippi and a hurricane on Bourbon Street....and hell, i am probably forgetting half.......i'm just disappointed that we are losing our identity as a nation, and nations are loosing their identities around this magnificent planet........for God's sake there was a Primanti bros sandwich shop on the beach rd in Ft Lauderdale the last time i was there......sorry, but that kielbasa sandwich should only be enjoyed in the steel city or western PA , in the freezing cold and served up by a horde of Pollocks.....some things should remain regional in my opinion.....it's what makes traveling so rewarding.

maybe it's just the cold weather that has me down.....maybe i'm just old and cranky today.....maybe i am just mad because whoopi goldberg misappropriated Jewish Culture and stole a Jewish name and then said hurtful things on TV about the holocaust.....i hope she doesn't get cancelled, her brand of stupidity can only help the cause come November....maybe i need a little drink of the Jack Daniels......some Grateful Dead on the stereo and i need to read the opening chapter of ON the ROAD for the 20 something time.

 Rest in Peace to Jon Donofrio, the young man stabbed to death in Bayridge Saturday night at the age of 22. I did not know him but by all accounts, he was a really good kid. A graduate of New Utrecht High and a driver of a horse drawn Carriage in and around Central Park ( a family owned business), Maybe because of the snow storm or maybe because the media doesn't like stories like this , but very little coverage by the local jerkoffs on channel 2 and 5 ( i refuse to watch abc 7)...........Sunday there was an arrest, still zero coverage....last night there was a candlelight vigil and nothing on the News,,,,,makes you wonder who the killer was and why the news doesn't pursue this story, who are they covering for ?...he's 19 with a Mexican last name , wanna guess ? ....as Jen Psaki at the White House mocks Fox News and anyone concerned with a rise in crime, the city of NY gets ready to bury another Police officer.....Psaki went on to say that $$$ for the Police was in the Build Back Better plan that republicans voted against........NOT TRUE says the liberal Washington Post.......$$ in the bill was for municipalities to cover budget gaps.....it may have gone to to pay the police but not necessarily....it was NOT new $$ or dedicated $$ for Police......rather it was a blank check for NY, Philly , Chicago etc etc....all the demonrat cities that shut off their tax revenue base during the pandemic....and those cities could use that $$ for whatever ails them.....but hey, we are a stupid country, so why should someone like Psaki feel obligated to speak truths when a lying soundbite does the trick.

anyway .....22 is too young to die...as crazy as Bayridge was in the 70's and 80's i wasn't ever afraid of being stabbed to death at closing time...sure there were fights....but a bottle to the head or a baseball bat was as bad as it got.........i'm starting to understand old people more and more each day.....i'm starting to get that same feeling of just saying FUCK IT to everything.
