Howling at the blood on the moon "...... well it's true, the faster we go, the rounder we get and strange strange occurrences in the desert...... sweater nite is taking on a different feel as we sail into the uncharted Waters of number 20....as most of you know, we were approached by the friends of MoMo ( Maureen Nolan) and asked to share the evening portion of PC'S with a benefit for Maureen as she battles cancer.... and of course we were eager to oblige..... so the tentative timeline has USA v Russia at 6:00 a.m. location to be determined....the Blueshirts dropping the puck at 2:00....a hot buffet served approx 3:30......Mac & Mike (aka Richie Havens)open the festival at 5:00.....the benefit kicks off at 6:00....a second set of music and raffles followed by a second round of the buffet..... somewhere in there I begin speaking Mandarin with a touch of swaheely, hopefully my disguise will keep the knife weilding ninjas away from my thumb..... we have geusts coming in from far and wide.... I'm cautiously optimistic that we ring up one for the ages...a night to remember... celebrating 2 decades of dominance in the 209..... this one will really be different, I'd be lying if I didn't admit to waking up with cold sweats from time to time....let's hope everything goes well... Their days are numbered....the Iceladies announced a disasterous plan that will almost certainly result in John Taveres leaving.....with the new Arena not scheduled to open until the fall of 2021 at the earliest ( they haven't received approval to break ground, nor have they secured financing ) and the Barclays aggressively pushing them out.....they announced a proposal to play a split season between the mosoleuim and the Barclays.....ouch.....kind like the KC/Omaha Kings before the promised land of Sacramento.

in case you missed it.....a U.S. Veterans group applied to take out a full page ad in this years super bowl program....the ad displayed an honor guard with fill colors and a simple caption......#Pleasestand.....at the bottom of the ad was a request for donations to veterans support groups......the nfl said NO FUCKING WAY and rejected the ad...their reason ?? they did not want the super bowl program to become a platform for political statements......I swear to God that was their official response.......so in case you keeping score at home.....the Miscreant, Slobs and Thugs that play in this league can use the National Anthem and a national tv audience as their platform to disrespect this country and our Police Forces' , but a Group of Veterans cannot take out an AD in a program asking/urging the fans in attendance to do what their fucking parents should have already taught them.....STAND for the ANTHEM.....as the ratings continue to dive off a cliff, you really don't have to look too far to find a reason....#boycottthenfl

strangest Christmas Eve

1985...Diego Garcia....no comparison.....on a remote tropical island....first time in my life not being home on 76th street for Christmas.....Christmas season started out okay......we got a USO visit on or about December 15th....I worked nights at the airport....the dallas cowboy cheerleaders came in and we got yo drive them 3 miles downton to their rooms in the officers quarters...we had a few laughs..didn't feel like Christmas season tho........95 degrees and sunny.....half the island inhabitants caught flights back to the States for Christmas leave on or about December 21st....the place was a ghost town.....Mess Hall was empty......the "BAR" was half full and lifeless....no flights at the airport from the 22nd on, so we had no mail or work......we barbuqued on the Beach with bonfires on the 23rd....big party for all the unlucky ones who weren't approved for leave......on the 24th....the lone radio station on the island thought it would be funny to play "I'll be home for Christmas" for 24 straight hours......as many different versions as they could find.....over and over and over.....it was funny for about an hour.......turned depressing.....followed by anger and rage.......but we kept listening......I remember drinking Gin & Tonic like it was water , along with about 50 other guys and girls totally drownding their sorrows, as the Palm trees waved and warm ocean breezes flew.....we kept drinking, and Listening to that fucking song......over, and over and over....please have snow....shots, beers, more gin....and mistletoe.....at night came more bonfires....angrier ones......furniture and other items were tossed into the fires...and presents for the kids....as midnight approached , total despair set in.......we felt like total losers stuck on a deserted island as the rest of the world celebrated Christmas.....you can count on me......eventually passed out......woke up in the sand ......stumbled to the mess hall for coffee.....brutal hangover.......what's playing in the mess hall ? I'll be home for Christmas....IF ONLY IN MY DREAMS.

So a fella in Brooklyn shot an 80 year old deli clerk to death because the man charged him $2 for a pint of beeeeeer that the shooter thought should only cost a buck fifty..... seriously people... what the fuck has gone wrong with this planet ? Has Satan taken over ? Is this the end of Days ?? Two dollars for a fuckin can of beer ? The shooter should have also shot the store owner, the beer distributor, the people in the apartment above the deli, and anyone else involved in this highway robbery..... enough is enough.

farewell to college joys

we sail at the break of day.....and so the biggest day of the year has finally arrived.......The United States Naval Academy and the U.S. Military Academy of West Point meet on the gridiron in the city of brotherly love for the 118th time.......Navy Leads the series 60-50-7.....but no matter what the scoreboard says at the end of the day , AMERICA wins.......for my betting friends ....I urge and implore you to load up on the NAVY....I have watched both teams.....pay no attention to records.....Navy has 5 losses......3 to top 20 teams ( UCF, @Memphis, @ND).......another on the road to a very tough Houston squad the morning after Thanksgiving, and one clunker on the road at Temple with a QB still suffering from a concussion ( and it showed, the offense was never in sync)........Navy has one glaring weakness......Pass Defense......Army has played entire games without even attempting a pass.....I fully expect a 17 point win today for the Calamari Squids......Anthony Gargulio ( the Pride of Colts Neck High School) will not be stopped..........the weather is the only monkey wrench.....Abbey has been careless with the football at times this year.....the only way Navy does not dominate is if they turn the ball over too many times........as most of my readers know we are having a fundraiser for the game today in PC's Pub in Bayridge......raising $$ for the PAWS OF WAR....a non profit group that rescues dogs from kill shelters and trains them to be service dogs for Veterans in need....stop by if you can.......and Gooooooooooo Navy !

And so this upside down world keeps spinning.....good guys don't just finish last , But they are seemingly punished for their character....the NY football Giants have slumped to Arguably their lowest point in franchise history....they have dragged they 2 time Super Bowl MVP quarterback through the mud, surrounded him with an anemic roster, and a lousy coach and somehow blamed him for a 2-9 start to the season.....and how did Eli respond ? Stoicly... Professional and Loyal to the team.....AS ALWAYS.....in this season of the boycott I had already decided to give up my season tickets, but this move hurts.....it reminds me of the dispicable treatment of Tom Seaver...the franchise...by the perennial embarrassment NY Mets.....as much as I love the Mets...a part of me still HATES them.....and now the Giants join that club...... what is done, can never be undone......
