sit down and pour yourself a whiskey.....i have a shocking prediction about this upcoming NHL season....There is a Team out there that may take a Giant leap from the basement to the Penthouse.... I still love the Coyotes, and although i do think they go deep in the playoffs this year, it can no longer be considered a shock or a Cinderella story.....in fact the past 2 years the Utah Hockey club has underachieved......but i digress......the team that will defy the odds and make a run at Lord Stanley's Cup = The Ducks of Aneheim.....i'm not quacking up.

The Ducks have the welcomed back one of the top Coaches of the last half Century in Joel Quenneville , (back from a forced hiatus as part of punishment for the videographer sexual assault case back in Chicago....apparently he delayed taking action against one of his coaches that was sexually harassing a young player until after the playoffs.....horrific stuff no doubt, but the team did win the CUP that year, so who's to say what would have happened to the mini Kane/Toews Dynasty if Coach Q had blown everything up )

They also dress a nice mix of youngsters and Veterans.......and more importantly; 4 ex Rangers in the twilight of their career.....a now or never attitude always helps in crunch time.....Kreider joins Frank Vattrano and Ryan Strome and of course former Capt Jacob Trouba....and they have a good young netminder in Lukas Dostal..........watch out for these Ducks.

sticking with hockey.....Chris Drury sb on the phone with Edmonton every day....the window is closing on their star players.....the Oilers have lost back to back Finals to the Panthers and the main difference between these 2 teams is Goaltending.....specifically Bobrowski........Bob has stymied them when it mattered most........and Drury should be offering our Russian imposter for a boatload of prospects and picks.......Edmonton just might overpay for a Goalie they think can get then over the top........i know it would make Bob Dylan and his grandaughter happy to see Shisterkin moving out of the apple....
