Each one playing a horn
Dressed in green robes with wings that stick outThey’ve been there since Christmas morn (Dylan)
it's been a long and brutally busy week of work.....perhaps my final "year end" season on the street....if all goes as planned i hope to be drinking craft beer on the beaches of the Palmetto state this time next December, but we shall see.....until then digest these bullet points.
This year the Winter classic has shifted from Noon on New Years Day to a late afternoon affair on NY Eve...and they have a good one slated....the born again Blues of St Louis travel to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field to take on the BLACKHAWKS at 4:00 pm central time (5:00 in jew york as jessie jackson would say).......we usually work until 8;30-9:00 on the last business day of the year, but at least i will be in the Gato Bar with the game on in the background.
Sweater Nite 27 is slated for Saturday February 22nd in PC's Bar & Grille with a 2:00 faceoff....the NHL screwed our Presidents weekend tradition by shutting down the entire league for 2 weeks in February for a silly international tournament (not the olympics, that's next year).......pregame Skate @ Kelly's Tavern on both 4th and 5th ave at high noon.......followed by a march down 5tha ve and a quick stop at Pizza wagon....giddy up
On Monday January 20th the nation welcomes back the true Commander In Chief, and it happens to be MLK Day . ( Banks and Wall St will be closed) The aforementioned PC's will be hosting a special Inauguration Gala. The Bar will be open early for pregame libations and the Donn gets sworn in at High Noon and makes a speech approx 12:15-12:30.......Craig is putting out a Buffett , it sb a festive afternoon all around.......i may sneak into town under the cloak of darkness on sundee for the NFL playoffs and stay over.
GD 60 is a thing, and it sounds like it is going to happen.....no word on who is IN the band besides Bob, Mickey and Billy........this one will really be more about the comradery of traveling and attending shows with friends and celebrating the amazing staying power of the Band that we owe so much...then it will about the actual performances....but the American Beauty is that nobody is forcing anyone to go....i personally hope to be there.
anyway 2+3=BEEER stay safe
The bakery truck stops outside of that fence
Where the angels stand high on their poles
The driver peeks out, trying to find one face
In this concrete world full of souls
The angels play on their horns all day
The whole earth in progression seems to pass by
But does anyone hear the music they play
Does anyone even try?
