Let's drink to the lowly of birth
Raise your glass to the good and the evilLet's drink to the salt of the earth (Jagger-Richards)
so, when Mick and Keith performed Salt of the Earth at MSG at the Concert for NYC (organized by Sir Paul McCartney) they felt the need to alter the lyric and change AND to NOT.......it hit me like a ton of bricks that night ( even though i was 3 sheets to wind) and it has stuck with me.........whenever i hear the song on my Ipod , I sing the altered lyrics .
It is just another example of how music plays such a large part in our lives, and how Bloody Lucky we all are to have lived through the Greatest period in Music History in my opinion......to be on the planet at the same time and to easily attend the shows of the likes of Dylan, The Stones, The Who, The Grateful Dead ,Tom Petty, Neil Young, Hot Tuna and the Band.....and literally hundreds of others, too many to mention.........no better time to have been alive in my opinion.
speaking of music...the original Sweater Nite Rambler, Steve Mac; gave me two solid song recommendations of the past year or two.....give them a listen on one of the free music sites and you might end up buying the singles (or albums) on itunes.

Say a prayer for the common foot soldier
Spare a thought for his back breaking work
Say a prayer for his wife and his children
Who burn the fires and who still till the earth
Spare a thought for his back breaking work
Say a prayer for his wife and his children
Who burn the fires and who still till the earth
