I had a little money
Government burglars took it longBefore I could mail it to youStill you are the only oneNow I can't let it slip awaySo if the man with the ticker tape, he tries to take itWell, this is what I'm gonna say (Elvis Costello)This is a very interesting time for the stock market.....It honestly could swing violently in either direction or remain the same as if nothing were happening all around....on one hand i am adding to my position in Nvidia (on the eve of earnings) and at the same time i am moving more $$ to the sidelines ...on the off chance that the market is eventually spooked by, or take notice to; the countries $40 Trillion debt.......we are currently borrowing an addittional $93,000 every second...we spend more $$ annually on the interest payments than we do on National Defense.....it would seem to most that we are on the precipice of a great collapse......yet the market seems to shrug and say, let's wait and see......Scott Bessent is dipping into Treasury reserves to buyback govt bonds, to try and stabilize surging yields on the 10yr and 30 yr.......feels like a shell game , but nobody even flinched......is this a 1990's market repeat....as Greenspan dubbed "Irrational Exhuberance" ? does the market not believe that stocks can and will go down in value ?.....just when i am ready to pull the plug on some funds that have been up 30% ytd, i watch an interview with an economist who insists that a 1% moved in GDP will bring everything back under control and a 2% increase will eliminate the national debt entirely. If the new economic sanctions against Iran manage to cripple the regime and oil prices tumble, does everything else fall in line ? and what about the new trade war that POTUS just launched against Canada ? (side note, i have his back 100% on this one, and i believe Jamieson "Winston " Greer that the northern frogs tried to hoodwink our trade deal by adding too much bull crap at the midnight hour) and it is true, they need us a lot more than we need them.......hopefully our friends in Alberta see through Mark Carney's BS.....they are shocked and outraged that the bad orange man would tariff canadian goods.....but never have anything to say about the 200% tariffs they levied on US Farmers during the Clinton and Obama years.( took me 4 questions and about 10 minutes to get A I to admit that....they kept insisting that Canadian tariffs were merely retaliatory )
anyway there it quite a lot spinning on the financial globe at the moment.....reminds me of David Lindley and Jackson Browne discussing Cocaine....."it takes a clear mind" to figure what moves to make next ....or perhaps......sit still and do nothing........glad i cleared that up for you.
side note.....i really love this guy Jameis Winston...a funny guy with a positive outlook...he has the tools to be a starter for sure, i'm glad he seems content to be a Giant Backup.....especially with Darts concussion history.
2+3= $40 Trillion...........yikes
