The footage from the flooding in Nepal is a not so subtle reminder that Water is the strongest force on the globe....Water covers 71% of the earth surface.....water extinguishes fire....and water ruins a nice glass of whiskey.
not defending Zuckerberg or Face page.....but this settlement is crap....Madison Avenue spends 24 hours a day trying to come up with ad campaigns that convince people watching television that they cannot live without the products they are pitching.....millions of entrepreneurs spend their life's worth trying to create a product that can capture the imagination of the consumer and hold them for a Kings ransom....the objective of every business in a Capitalist society is reel in as many customers as possible and to crush their competition......to hold FB financially responsible just because they did IT better than anyone else is shameless money grab.
NJ will get close to $700 million......will they invest in roads or paydown their debt ? no, they will create a new State run agency to combat social media addiction....i wish i was kidding......i wonder if Zuck regrets giving $100 Million to the Newark School System over 20 years ago ?
NVIDIA blew away the estimates with their earning release last night....stock is up over 7% in after hours trading....still a bargain at $225 a share.
lots of chatter lately about Data Centers....my feeling is that although they are unsightly, ugly warehouses.......they are essential to the AI future......local communities can use this opportunity to pull themselves out of debt and even fund some of their pet projects, they can put in reasonable guardrails that ensure the DC's are energy self sufficient and not a drain on the grid, insist that they use non drinkable water for cooling, and they can prohibit them from buying farmland or open spaces to build.....one idea that seems like a no brainer to me would be to force these data centers to occupy/convert abandoned shopping malls or outdated warehouses or yesterday's factories......but the one truth that cannot be denied is that if these municipalities get greedy and have unreasonable demands.....well the private sector is always two steps ahead of govt jugheads......they will build the DC's in the desert, underwater or as Elon suggests; in outer space....they will utilize mini nuclear power plants and will keep all their Coins to themselves....and the stupid politicians will blow another chance to save their sinking ships.........i hope when the Martians are reading this is 250 years, they will leave a comment and tell me if i was right or wrong.

Don't agree with you on Facebook. This was about the children and marketing to them and also not providing safeguards. However, I also place a lot of blame on the parents - they should have placed their own limits on their kids usage!
Yep, like i said , i am not defending zuckerberg....he's a lowlife scum.......i just don't think it's very different from Pepsi using puppy dogs playing with kids or some of the Christmas time commercials that are geared towards enticing kids.....i don't think any DOJ's are pursuing "criminal' charges....i think this this just the states trying to grab free cash........instead of asking FB to create guardrails, Congress should pass laws making that mandatory...imo
