her last words

I will be back to Haunt Steve Mcevoy ! ! !

Death is a friend of ours, and he that is not ready to entertain him is
not at home
Sir Francis Bacon

As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used bring happy
death
Leonardo De Vinci

When the storm clouds gather 'round you, and heavy rains descend
Just remember that death is not the end
And there's no one there to comfort you, with a helpin' hand to lend
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end
Oh, the tree of life is growing
Where the spirit never dies
And the bright light of salvation shines
In dark and empty skies
When the cities are on fire with the burning flesh of men
Just remember that death is not the end
And you search in vain to find just one law abiding citizen
Just remember that death is not the end
Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end
Bob Dylan

Keep your lamps trimmed and burnin for this old world she's almost done.

This ones for Gravey

well unfortunately the terrible rainfall seemed to prevent MR Dylan from Dedicating a 47 minute version of "if dogs run free" to my pal Gravey, but we know he meant to....quite possibly his lyrical Masterpiece..

If Dogs Run Free

If dogs run free, then why not we
Across the swooping plain?
My ears hear a symphony
Of two mules, trains and rain.
The best is always yet to come,
That's what they explain to me.
Just do your thing, you'll be king,
If dogs run free.

If dogs run free, why not me
Across the swamp of time?
My mind weaves a symphony
And tapestry of rhyme.
Oh, winds which rush my tale to thee
So it may flow and be,
To each his own, it's all unknown,
If dogs run free.

If dogs run free, then what must be,
Must be, and that is all.
True love can make a blade of grass
Stand up straight and tall.
In harmony with the cosmic sea,
True love needs no company,
It can cure the soul, it can make it whole,
If dogs run free.

long live the KING

nobody says it better than Bob...

If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
Everybody saying this is a day only the Lord could make

Well, I worked on the levee, mama, both night and day
I worked on the levee, mama, both night and day
I got to the river and I threw my clothes away

I paid my time and now I'm good as new,
I paid my time and now I'm as good as new.
They can't take me back unless I want them to

If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
Some of these people gonna strip you of all they can take

I can't stop here I ain't ready to unload
I can't stop here I ain't ready to unload
Riches and salvation can be waiting behind the next bend in the road

I picked you up from the gutter and this is the thanks I get
I picked you up from the gutter and this is the thanks I get
You say you want me to quit you, I told you, 'No, not just yet.'

Well, I look in your eyes, I see nobody other than me
I look in your eyes, I see nobody other than me
I see all that I am and all I hope to be

If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
Some of these people don't know which road to take

When I'm with you, I forget I was ever blue
When I'm with you, I forget I was ever blue
Without you there's no meaning in anything I do

Some people on the road carrying everything that they own
Some people on the road carrying everything they own
Some people got barely enough skin to cover their bones

Put on your cat clothes, mama, put on your evening dress
Put on your cat clothes, mama, put on your evening dress
Few more years of hard work, then there'll be a 1,000 years of happiness

If it keep on raining, the levee gonna break
If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
I tried to get you to love me, but I won't repeat that mistake

If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break
Plenty of cheap stuff out there and still around that you take

I woke up this morning, butter and eggs in my bed
I woke up this morning, butter and eggs in my bed
I ain't got enough room to even raise my head.

Come back, baby, say we never more will part
Come back, baby, say we never more will part
Don't be a stranger with no brain or heart

If it keep on raining, the levee's gonna break.

the presence of greatness

the one and only Bob Dylan graced the Jersey Shore with his presence last night , amidst howling winds and the deluge of the new century he belted out the below set list, reminding the world who is in charge, and what lies in store......the ultimate gentlemen Willie Nelson got the party started , followed by that communist cougar, and finnally the annointed one himself.....torrential downpours and hazardous flooding could not derail the energy that flowed through First Energy Park ...much like the river.

estadio Nueva de los janqueros.

and so we did in fact trek to the Bronix for an inuagural visit to the New Yankee Stadium , lot of memories of the old ballyard came flooding back , and seeing the old grand dame shuttered in black fish nettings was sad , but time wounds all heels and so it is forward we shall go further into the 21 st century fox, Stans was as good as ever, and on this day we had a capper in the original White Horse and enjoyed our brew under the watchful gaze of Dylan Thomas, befitting since a mere 30 hours later we would be in the presence of greatness of the one and only Robert Zimmerman.......ah but i digress, here is the kodachrome evidence.........one small point...we had lunch in the Hard Rock adjacent to the stadium....they always have a signature quote from a song....in this establishment thay choose Stevie Ray Vaughn ....i was befuddled, at first I thought that this being New York they should have a lyric from the rockin RAMONES , and then it really hit me....the bar is below the El , you hear the rumblings every 90 seconds...howz about new yorks own Paul Simon

"The words of the Prophets are written on the Subway Walls"

one small step for man....

well Bob Dylan linked the landing to disaster that would surely follow....and who among you , can argue

Man thinks 'cause he rules the earth he can do with it as he please
And if things don't change soon, he will.
Oh, man has invented his doom,
First step was touching the moon.

Now, there's a woman on my block,
She just sit there as the night grows still.
She say who gonna take away his license to kill?

Now, they take him and they teach him and they groom him for life
And they set him on a path where he's bound to get ill,
Then they bury him with stars,
Sell his body like they do used cars.

Now, there's a woman on my block,
She just sit there facin' the hill.
She say who gonna take away his license to kill?

Now, he's hell-bent for destruction, he's afraid and confused,
And his brain has been mismanaged with great skill.
All he believes are his eyes
And his eyes, they just tell him lies.

But there's a woman on my block,
Sitting there in a cold chill.
She say who gonna take away his license to kill?

Ya may be a noisemaker, spirit maker,
Heartbreaker, backbreaker,
Leave no stone unturned.
May be an actor in a plot,
That might be all that you got
'Til your error you clearly learn.

Now he worships at an altar of a stagnant pool
And when he sees his reflection, he's fulfilled.
Oh, man is opposed to fair play,
He wants it all and he wants it his way.

Now, there's a woman on my block,
She just sit there as the night grows still.
She say who gonna take away his license to kill?

I Presume

gonna mix up a nice batch of mimosa's with my scrambled eggs and settle into club Gato to watch Dr. Watson win the Brit...I presume.

if the Metropolitans do not fire omar before the trade deadline and allow for the new GM to start remaking this roster, it's time lost......and further evidence that Wilpon too Must Go..........BOYCOTT BOYCOTT.......empty seats and people turning down free tickets speaks louder than anything else.....otherwise , it's ten more years of mediocrity.

ol cronkite

not in honor , but in recognition of his passing , one can only hope that the GREAT Bob Dyalan pulls Black Diamond Bay out of his bag of trix this Thursday in Lakewood.

I was sittin' home alone one night in L.A.,
Watchin' old Cronkite on the seven o'clock news.
It seems there was an earthquake that
Left nothin' but a Panama hat
And a pair of old Greek shoes.
Didn't seem like much was happenin',
So I turned it off and went to grab another beer.
Seems like every time you turn around
There's another hard-luck story that you're gonna hear
And there's really nothin' anyone can say
And I never did plan to go anyway
To Black Diamond Bay.

the sheriff is

so i am working fm home on Thursday , and that pig corzine is gathering with his fellow pedophiles at the Garden State Arts Center, and everybody on tv is all giddy because the Marin Corp 1 Helicopter was landing in Holmdel and i burst out laughin thinkin about Blazin Saddles.

Officia Political Correspondent of Sweater Nite 12

the below appeared in the NY Post .....Ralph Peters of course....I wish he would run for office.

WHICH president spoke the following words?

"Where you have na tions that are oppressing their people, isn't there an international responsibility to intervene? I think the need for intervention becomes a moral imperative. . .

"There are going to be objections to just about any decision, because there are some in the international community who believe that state sovereignty is sacrosanct. . .

"But we also say we're not going to just wait indefinitely and allow for the development of a nuclear weapon, the breach of international treaties, and wake up one day and find ourselves in a much worse position and unable to act."

No, that wasn't George W. Bush justifying regime-change in Iraq. It was Barack Obama, speaking at a press conference in Italy last Friday. But his language and logic sounded as if he were channeling Bush.

Our president cited the British prime minister's anecdote about a boy who dreamed of becoming a doctor, only to be massacred. The tale was set in Rwanda. But it could have been the story of a Kurdish child gassed by Saddam Hussein.

It would have shown a flash of integrity had the media noted Obama's sudden adherence to the Bush Doctrine. But this isn't just about Gotcha! Two big things appear to be in play.

First, Obama's been getting a taste of strategic reality served up by just about every thug on the planet. (And the prez can't have been happy with the lecture he got last week from Russian strongman Vladimir Putin -- the O-Man prefers to do the lecturing himself.)

The second thing is that political hypocrisy governs our domestic criticism of war. Had Bill Clinton deposed Saddam Hussein -- who Clinton believed held weapons of mass destruction -- our left would have celebrated him as the greatest liberator since Lincoln.

The problem was never what we did in Iraq, but who did it. The crocodile tears for our troops were all about tearing down Bush.

Where are the cries of "Support our troops, bring them home!" now that Obama's president? We still have almost 200,000 service members in war zones, folks. The soldiers and Marines are just as dead -- yet somehow Bush's surge was bad, while Obama's surge is g

American Dream revised edition

perhaps the Ozark Mountain daredevils are right, maybe there is a "Beauty in the River". maybe we just need to downsize our expectations , stop focusing on the big picture and get back to enjoying the small stuff....turn a blind eye towards the utter mess this planet and this nation is in and instead bask in the Golden Glow of an American Ale.

I am off today , there is something special about having a day off midweek, today i will take solace in the bohemian melodies of the grateful dead and the only other voice i shall subject my ears to , is that of the track announcer at Beautiful Monmouth Park. A peaceful, quiet afternoon of wondrous beasts charging around the track, icey cold Delicious BEEEER and SUNSHINE......who knows , i may even hit a birthday superfecta ..3265... and skip away a tad wealthier.

I am bout to start Q ing my breakfast , a mouth watering batch of boneless spare ribs , grilled to perfection, marinated zucchini ( or is it cusini) yellow squash and onions over spanish rice......complimented by a Frozen Glass lovingly filled with Pete Coors original banquet beer.....I am on vacation , no need to worry about my belly and drink light beer.

as i type this , the song that changed my life just came on the stereo, a live circa 77 version of SUGAR MAGNOLIA.....and yes , my heart still skips a beet.....i gotta go.
