so this past week I am re-reading Desolation Angels (Kerouac) for the gazillionth time and Jack is detailing a trip he made to the Golden Gate fields racetrack with Neal Cassidy and his theory of betting the second option , and how they would BOTH get rich if Kerouac would only listen , and now today I find myself headed to Monmouth Park Racetrack, where I shall personally test Cody Pomerays plan for attaining independent wealth and happiness at the hands of the poor sods who simply don't know better, and i secretly concede that even if I don't walk out of Oceanport like a Rockerfeller, I will have spent an amusing afternoon in the decades old shadow of 2 people I think of often, and i suspect i will also have a belly full of beer to prove it.

Ali Muhammad Brown is accused of killing a 19-year-old in New Jersey and three men in Washington State. According to court documents, the 29-year-old claimed he wanted to kill the teen as an act of 'vengeance' to retaliate for U.S. military action in the Middle East.

to make matters worse the Police initially stated the the victim was targeted....which would mean he must have done something to warrant being shot in the head......what they should have said was the Victim appears to be a random victim with no enemies or apparent ties to any criminal activity....but that would scare the Public....BUT IT'S TRUE......they chose him because he was a white male.....nothing else.

Boys and Girls....this is a Terrorist Attack carried out on American Soil in West Orange NJ...why are we force fed Al Sharpton and Ferguson , MO on a daily basis , and this story is not only IGNORED.....But Covered up by the Local Police ?

The victim was Brendan Tevlin....unlike Mike Brown and Eric Garner , he did not have prior arrests, marijuana in his system or a physical confrontation with Police.....he was a "real" College Student at Richmond University and he had just texted his Mom that he was on his way home when he was murdered at a red light........this happened back in JUNE....where the FUCK is the FBI, Holder, OBAMA and the rest of those assholes in Washington DC ?......this man was Killed 10 miles from NYC as payback for U.S. Military action in the middle East....where is the National Coverage of this Fucking Story ???

so 3 seperate news stations this morning are reporting that 2 nazi fags are claiming responsibility for the surrender flags atop the Brooklyn Bridge, they told the NY times they did it to support public art (fruits) and to commemorate the anniversary of the death of the German Architect that designed the bridge....BUT None of these stations went on to name John A Roebling by name........Do they not Know who designed the bridge ? or are they withholding his name so as not to encourage other Hessians from seeking publicity?

side note....John A Roebling  watched construction of the Bridge from his deathbed in the borough of Churches after having his foot crushed during the early stages of tower 1......for some unknown reason this poor bastard was shipped to Trenton NJ for his burial.......a restuarant bearing his name later appeared in the south Street Seaport where they served surprisingly good Burgers.

Dawn of the Dead...for me

I was playing Wiffle Ball with the Lads on the Hockey Courts near the Parkie House on 79^th street and Shore Road……icey cold can of the world renowned Budweiser Beer in my hand……still a few years shy of the bayridge drinking age of 13, but me and my Band of Brothers were  very mature for 11 year olds……we were certainly chatting about the Metropolitans baseball Club and perhaps the upcoming Bicentennial Celebration for our beloved Nation and all pomp and circumstance that was about to descend on the shores of South Brooklyn, and then like being struck by lightning I froze in my tracks, turned towards the benches were a group of lads and lasses were gathered round a radio and I strained my ear to hear a sound I had never heard before. I stood there mesmerized for a minute and change and asked my Compadre Steve Mcevoy  “WHO is THAT” ?....to which he replied “ The Grateful Dead”………(Sugar Magnolia to be exact…still my favorite song of all time to this day)…….I didn’t grasp the intensity of the moment, but my Life was about to Change….the very next day I emptied out my Chock Full of Nuts Coffee can bank and walked up to 86^th street and the Whole in the Wall Record store to purchase American Beauty…..I played the Album in its entirety, both sides without leaving the room, I would never look at the World the same way again, and then embarked on a lifetime Journey Down that Golden Road with Jerry Garcia and the Lads…….97 Grateful Dead Concerts, 100 more of solo shows and various collaborations in the post Jerry years Countless Cities, Motels, Road Trips and adventures on the Road…….through my days in the Navy & Wall Street, from Brooklyn to the Jersey Shore and everywhere in between, the DEAD have provided the soundtrack to my Life…..and on this day August 1^st,  what would have been Jerry Garcia’s 72^nd Birthday, I am eternally Grateful.

*** The Radio in question was actually a cassette deck and it belonged to Kevin Woods, I remember it as if it were yesterday and yet somehow I can’t remember what I had for Breakfast, Thanks Kev.
