Recipe for El Presidente~ El Nino

I was born in 1965 on the second day of March in Peck Memorial Hospital, in Crown Heights Brooklyn , New York , the Borough of Churches, the Epicenter of the United States if not the World. ( exactly three years to the day that the greatest basketball player in the history of the NBA tallied 100 pts against the Knickerbockers in a game played in Hershey Park PA ) I dare any candidate to match that innaugaration into the universe. I was raised on a quiet , tree lined street in Bayridge, just a pebbles kick from Byrnes Keg, aka the Bean Post. Lodi Levy lived next door, she was the token Hebrew as far we can remember, I cant remember the name of the people that lived on the other side of us, but they had a dog named Teddy and the Father always had a deck of cards with him....nice guy..always loaded.

I attended P.S. 170 kindergarten , but dropped out after fuel week, I was already bored with my contemporaries and was eager for new challenges. The best I can say for my time at 170 was an introduction to Steve Mcevoy , a classmate for life, and a heck of a drinker. Mac stayed until graduation and even took part in the May Pole celebration....I refused because it reminded of the Parades The Soviet Red Army used to hold in Moscow celebrating the birth of Communism no doubt and Lennin and Trotsky.

I attended OLA in September of 1970 and immediately astounded Sister Rose Aninna by developing my own brand of short hand. I was sent to the Pricipals office and my mother was called to the School…..they were determined to prove me wrong…..they opened up my notebook to a page from a prior month and insisted that I would not be able to make sense of what I had written…..I read back to them , verbatem, the announcements for that day……Sister Rose even read along with the sheet from the day in question……….although they conceeded that I could in fact read my own short hand , they requested that I refrain from using it…….if only I had been encouraged, instead of disouraged…..who knows what could have been….....I had my first major fistfight with Tommy Mcnicholls in the 2nd grade schoolyard because he welched on a 5 cent bet on a Ranger game.....I am not sure if ever got my money , but I know I landed some punches and Steve Mc and Jimmy Mitchell were in my corner if I needed backup...I had the proud distinction as serving as one of Miss Leons hall monitors, but quit in disgust….I was already listening to Bob Dylan and wanted no part of being a pawn for Authority.......yes it was the fifth grade, the world around us was changing, the end of Vietnam , Watergate, ....moving into the Upper Division and a royal Blue OLA tie as opposed to the dark Navy of the lower Division....My world would never be the same.......

TO BE CONTINUED.

The Cat is Back in the Race

Obviously I have to get back in the race for El Presidente~ , this country is going to hell in a hand basket without my guidance. Over the next few days I will re-introduce myself to those of you unfamiliar with my real life experiences that have prepared me to be the leader of the free world......we'll call a it recipe for Presidente........as the great Luis tiant used to say...."It's great to peetch for a weiner"

Communist

this reeks of communism, The Fed Reserve which most recently was seen to be dissolving a Publicly traded Company for the benefit of another publicly traded Company under the guise of protecting or bailing out investers......and now this jackass administration wants to give the Fed greater powers in regulating the markets. Neither side gets it, and sadly they probably never again will until we have a bloody revolution, the central Govt should be seen and not heard, should Butt out of our lives, allow the states to govern themselves and to only speak when conversing about International Matters and then with a voice that is collective of the States United. This country is in sad shape my friends. This is just one more reason to "Vote Gato for El Presidente~"

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration is proposing a sweeping overhaul of the way the U.S. financial industry is regulated.

In an effort to deal with the problems highlighted by the current severe credit crisis, the new plan would give major new powers to the Federal Reserve, according to a 22-page executive summary obtained Friday by The Associated Press.

The proposal would designate the Fed as the primary regulator of market stability, greatly expanding the central bank's ability to examine not just commercial banks but all segments of the financial services industry.

Hillary Clinton Fondly Recalls Leading Arkansas to 1994 NCAA Title

Asked by a reporter if she was participating in an NCAA Tournament pool today, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton wowed media members by recalling the magical run the Arkansas Razorbacks made to the 1994 championship – a run Clinton says she fueled by averaging 38 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, good enough to be named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.

“The mid-90s were a tough time for Arkansas with Bill and I off to the White House,” said Clinton. “We felt the hard-working men and women there needed something to uplift them. Bill was wrapped up in various things, so it was left to me to go down there and win them a championship. And I did.”

Clinton says her championship illustrates a big difference between herself and her rival, Sen. Barack Obama. “He likes to talk about how he is a basketball player, how he was a sixth man in high school, how he still plays pick-up games,” said Clinton. “But he never led a team to a national championship. I have. I have years of experience playing basketball. He has one left-hand dribble.”

The junior senator from New York says she will never forget the 1994 championship game. “We had Corliss Williamson, Scotty Thurman – good players,” said Clinton. “But we were going up against Duke, a powerhouse. We didn’t have a chance without me bringing my A-game. But you all know I never duck from a fight.”

Clinton recalls one series of plays in the second half that allowed the Razorbacks to pull away. “Cherokee Parks got the ball down low in the post and had great position on Corliss,” she said. “He had an easy lay-up to tie the game. But I came flying in and just swatted that sh-t out out of there. Just jumped up, ripped the ball out of the air and came down with it. I had to have been two feet above the rim. At least. Maybe more. I remember almost catching my chin on the top of the backboard. Then I pushed it up court, went behind my back to get past Chris Collins at midcourt, and then just f—king dunked right on Grant Hill’s head. Just right on his motherf—king head. I mean, I teabagged the kid. I remember hanging on the rim screaming and my balls were dangling on his head. And that was pretty much the game right there. We were national champions.”

Questioned by a reporter who said there is no record of Clinton on the 1994 Razorbacks, Clinton said she may have remembered incorrectly. “Well, that’s what I recall happening,” she said. “But, who knows. It was many years ago. I may be wrong. Perhaps I just watched the game on TV at the White House. But let’s not get off the main point here: Barack Obama hates white people. White people and America. White people, America and Christians."

Super Bowl CHAMPS To Open 2008 Season Early...Got Rings?

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL is considering starting its Thursday night season opener an hour-and-a-half earlier to avoid clashing with the Republican National Convention.

The game, in which the Super Bowl-champion New York Giants will be the home team, now is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EDT on Sept. 4 and will be televised by NBC. League spokesman Greg Aiello said Wednesday that the NFL is talking with the network about changing the game's starting time to 7 p.m.

Sept. 4 also is the concluding night of the Republican convention.

The highlight games of the NFL's first weekend, including the Giants' opponent for the opener, will be announced Monday during league meetings in Palm Beach, Fla. The rest of the schedule will be announced later next month.

Lord Alfred Tennyson

Flow down, cold rivulet, to the sea,
Thy tribute wave deliver:
No more by thee my steps shall be,
For ever and for ever.

Flow, softly flow, by lawn and lea,
A rivulet then a river;
No where by thee my steps shall be,
For ever and for ever.

But here will sigh thine alder tree,
And here thine aspen shiver;
And here by thee will hum the bee,
For ever and for ever.

A thousand suns will stream on thee,
A thousand moons will quiver;
But not by thee my steps shall be,
For ever and for ever.

finally a STRAW Poll we can agree on

(CNN) – As some Americans recover from hangovers induced by St. Patrick’s Day, a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll released Tuesday suggests a voter’s drinking preferences may also reveal their political preferences.

Beer drinkers appear more likely to vote for Sen. John McCain in November, while those who enjoy wine say they’re more likely to vote Democratic in the fall. Among registered voters who prefer beer to wine, McCain has a 53 percent-46 percent edge over Sen. Hillary Clinton while McCain winds up in a virtual tie with Sen. Barack Obama among beer drinkers. In the head-to-head match-ups with McCain, Sens. Obama and Clinton each win a majority among registered voters who prefer wine to beer.

Overall, 28 percent of all Americans say they prefer beer to wine and 31 percent say they would rather have a glass of wine than a bottle of brew. (The rest claim that they never drink under any circumstances, and so we do not trust or believe them, we are actively attempting to revoke their voter registration cards because they have communist tendencies.)

Wine drinkers who only took one sip of their drink , and then asked the bartender to keep the glass on ice while they took a walk around Jazz fest , supported any corpse the liberal swine could dig up and nominate against the all powerful, ever knowing Conservatives who protect your liberal as**s.

The apparent political differences are really matters of gender and class – men are big beer drinkers while women prefer wine over beer, as do higher-income Americans and college graduates. Some men do not drink on consecutive days anymore, they are known as "blossoms", or impostors.

The poll of 950 registered voters was conducted by telephone on March 14-16 and has a sampling error of plus or minus 6.5 percentage points.

McCain also held a slight lead over the democrats amongst those who would drink "anything that aint effen nailed down Son" .....which is very promising.

who's cheating on whom ?

Interesting game of ping pong between New York and New jersey the past few weeks……..each state vying for attention ……..

New York….our gov slept with hookers and used your tax dollars to do it.

New Jersey…our old Gov and his wife , had an affair with the same guy.

New York….our new gov and his wife , each had an extramarital affair.

New Jersey…The Mc-Three-Veys had a gay triangle with the campaign driver all over the Tristate area….and Portugal.

New York….our new gov had multiple affairs , as recent as this year, and got a plum job for one of his lady friends.

New Jersey….the world awaits with bated breath. Can you top this ?

With all this infidelity , it is a wonder the sacrament of Marriage survives at all.

refusing to die

even with an offer of now $2.34 a share on the table , investors refuse to let the Bear die......BSC trading at $6.10 this morning.......considering the asett to liabilty formula says the stock s/b priced at $78.00 , I do not think it is unrteasonable for JP Morgan to pay closer to $20.00 than $2........time will tell, lives hang in the balance.

no bailout

Bailout ? Nonsense ! Anyone who thinks the Fed jumped in to save Wall Street and bailout Bear Stearns either needs their head examined or believes everything that the liberal media spews. If you were a 64 year old worker in Bear Stearns on July 1st 2007, and had 1 million dollars in the Company stock fund ( which was 33% owned by employees) and were waiting until July of 08 to turn 65 and retire…….you woke up Monday morning with a whopping $11,764.00 in your account…..guess what ? Your starting over at 65 , without a job….. , the Fed did not bail out anyone, they told Bear to accept an offer or else face padlocked doors. Mr. Paulson wanted everything wrapped in a neat little package Sunday Night before the markets opened in Asia. As a result , JP Morgan Chase ( of which I am a happy shareholder) gets to buy Bear Stearns for the rock bottom price of $2 a share or approx 236 million. The brand new HQ building at Madison Avenue alone is worth 1.5 BILLION , maybe more. The sub prime mortgages that these banks made , were the result of the Democratic Party Crying that the banks were racists because they were not loaning enough money proportionately to "minors" , well those "bad" loans have come home to roost.

Ther Great Spitzer

PC's Pub was a hornets nest of activity yesterday as nervous drinkers discussed the little black book and the identity of clients 1 through 8 . Nobody was safe from speculation…. bankers, lawyers, brokers, salesmen, civil servants ….all took their turn under the microscope……most of the gang were split over what was the bigger crime committed by the Governor Erect…..was it the cheating on his spouse , OR the structuring of his wire transactions…..a blatant violation of the Anti Money Laundering clause of the Patriot Act …….Most of the Crowd did agree that at least their " Love Gov" was straight….not like those cretins on the wrong side of the Hudson as Jason Kidd would say……

BB or Stan

So I am in the Count Basie on Sunday Night, third row center for the legendary BB King , and he's pickin on Lucille and tellin tales of life growing up in the deep deep south of Itta, Bena Mississippi in the 1920's . "I was born in 1925" he proudly told the crowd, "I am 82 years young" ……and suddenly it hits me….Stan Pazarecki is also 82 years old, and also lived a very exciting life…….maybe Ol Stan could pack in the Basie and tell stories about Chippy , and the parking meter he ran over , and the Soccer Tavern etc etc ……..I don't think Stan can play the guitar, and he does not have a band yet, but if we start him out with a harmonica and let him open a set for the high tides , we may be on to something……Obviously he can't start at the top, nobody can, but maybe we'll get him a gig in the Schnitzel House and take it from there…..Dano could accompany him, bang on the triangle and help him with his anecdotes should he forget a punch line or an important detail……now all we need is a booking agent, can some call Norman Clancy and see if he wants first dibs at this project?

survivor staircase

What a terrible shame, the below story was lifted off the AP via 1010 wins, I took this staircase on that day on my way into the buildings.....it has stood all this time, but now they are moving it....many a days over the past 3 years i walked down vescey and marvaled at the fact that it survived......it was always reassuring to know that somethings had...hundreds of people took this staircase to safety on the way out that day....is nothing sacred in this world of ours....must everything bow to commercialism? first they moved our fountain to Battery park , and now this ....

WTC Staircase Cherished as 9/11 Escape Route Moving

NEW YORK (AP) -- Tom Canavan saw the stairs through the smoke after tunneling out of debris that buried him when the World Trade Center's south tower collapsed. The sun fell on a section of gold awning that led him down the stairs to safety on a nearby street.
The north tower collapsed a few minutes later.
``Without that staircase, I don't see myself getting out of that plaza before the north tower comes down and kills me,'' said Canavan, one of countless Sept. 11 survivors who escaped the burning ruins by the same route.
That staircase -- 37 stairs that once connected the outdoor plaza outside the twin towers to the street below -- survived Sept. 11 and remains the only above-ground remnant of the trade center complex.
After years of debate over whether and how to preserve the structure, though, the staircase will be moved this weekend for the first time. The stairs are moving about 200 feet west on the site, to be stored until they can be installed at the Sept. 11 memorial.
``I would have liked it if they could have left it where it was,'' said Canavan, 48. ``I realize they couldn't do that.''
Preservationists and survivors of the 2001 terrorist attack began campaigning years ago to leave the staircase as it stood, while developers refined plans for office towers, a transit hub and Sept. 11 memorial on the 16-acre site. The staircase, which had weighed 175 tons and stood 22 feet, sits in the middle of the footprint of a 1,278-foot skyscraper, one of five being built to replace the destroyed towers.
In 2006, state officials announced they would demolish all but one or two slabs of the staircase to make way for the new tower, undeterred by a preservation group that named the steps one of the nation's most endangered historic places.
The site's owner, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said the piece could not be taken off the site because it is too tall for traffic lights and overhead poles and possibly too heavy for bridges.
``You would have to have started moving light poles'' to move the staircase intact, said Steve Plate, the agency's director of World Trade Center construction.
Leaders in Gov. Eliot Spitzer's administration worked out a compromise last year to separate the stairs from their concrete base and install them at the Sept. 11 memorial.
``The goal was always to preserve enough of this staircase to really communicate its power,'' said Joe Daniels, president of the foundation building the memorial. ``We can reduce the whole size of this thing but still capture the essence of the stairs.''
Avi Schick, chairman of the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. rebuilding agency that brokered the compromise, said that debate over the staircase became a symbolic struggle between the site's history and the long-delayed progress rebuilding it.
``You were pitting memory and preservation and loss and family against redevelopment and construction, as if you could have one or the other but you couldn't coexist,'' he said. ``What we proved is in fact they could coexist.''
To prepare it to move, the staircase was whittled down to 65 tons, which includes the weight of an elaborate steel bracing system that took three months to build.
This weekend, a 500-ton crane will lift the piece onto a flatbed and move it next to some construction trailers on the west side of the site, its stairs covered with plywood and Styrofoam for protection, Plate said. The Port Authority is spending $2 million on the move.
By summertime, the stairs will move again: This time a crane will lift them 70 feet in the air and across the site to the memorial, where it will be installed 50 feet from the twin towers' footprints, with stairs on either side for visitors to stand alongside.
The memorial is expected to house several other trade center relics, including pieces of the trident steel columns that once supported the 110-story towers and other artifacts currently in storage at a hangar at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Below ground, a wall that housed the towers' foundation is the last remnant to survive the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Canavan said the day the stairs are installed at the memorial will be the most important to him for the staircase since the day it saved him.
``Once it's in the museum and people can see it, that's the main thing. I think there's a little reverence to it,'' he said. ``It's like a tombstone. This is sort of a tombstone for a lot of people who couldn't get out.''

I Apologize

To my loyal voters that is……..why ? What did you think I was apologizing for ?? The past 30 days on the campaign trail, the only person on the scene missing was me and the Jack of Hearts……..a lot of flack over this 3:00 a.m. call ……….Hillary sez she has the experience to handle it, Johnny Mac draws on his POW experiences , but I can honestly say, and as this Blog can attest , I am the only candidate that what NOT be awoken by that 3:00 a.m. Call…….early to bed , even earlier to rise, that's what makes me healthy, happy and WISE…….not a bad blueprint for success Dante……….there was also this imaging scandal that has erupted…..apparently Hillary ran a photo of me in one of her ads, but they doctored the color of my hair ……put in more pepper and took out some of my natural salt , in a weak effort to rob me of the maturity that grey hair instills……….I drank very hard for many a year and earned every one of these grays……I never succumbed to the weakness of hair dye and never shall……anyway, now that I have put to bed the issues that plagued my campaign in the run-up to SNX , a fine gathering of True Good Friends, no impostors, we can get back to run a clean healthy campaign………Tom Petty has not retuned my calls, but we do think we have inked the Heartbreakers as the warm-up act for the Hightides at Sweater Night 11……..if there is a sweater night 11.

Holy No Show

The most notable absence of the evening went to the honorable eggroll Nolan who was waging a personal protest against the Gala......sadly this once bastion of the community sunk to a new low by preying on a weakened beer induced memory bank and brazenly claimed to have attended the party the following day ( in a phone conversation that nobody can verify anyway).......are there no depths that mankind will sink to , in an effort to hone in on the Swetaer Night Phenomena ?

At least cracker Jack had the decency to phone in sick.....the Rooster is getting ready to crow McEvoy...

And Dano ? he just forgot to save the Nate I suppose.

quite the sendoff

put in a tough 8 hour shift in the salty dog....Mondays are always tough, this one was preceeded by a funeral which made the goings on more difficult, but a Monday all the same......I think we did our friend Big Bob proud, many many stories filled the room and our hearts with laughter....8 and change the hard way.....4 beers an hour....5 when the going was good, three when our tender was asleep at the switch...18 club sodas when Mac was antsy.....Monday, Monday......sadly, non day drinkers were marked absent.
