Broadway Blueshirts...Americas team

The hockey Rangers have 7 ....count em 7....follow the link....AMERICANS on the opening day roster........we know slats is a canadian commie , so all the credit goes to Johnny Tacos for asembling this group......can't wait for the opener in Pittsburgh.....I was positively stunned to see that America's line lists the blushirts at 30-1 to win the cup....that's free money for the taking.....onward to victory.

Boston College

ESPN's gameday is onsite at BC for the Eagles -Fla State Game...this article below appeared on ESPN website reviewing the BC experience......Katie? are they accurate? a nice shout out to Mary Anns buy the way.....but no mentions of Roggies Boston College is one of a few dozen institutions that make Boston one of the country's best college towns. What some don't realize is how things athletic mix so fervently with things academic. Even the smartest are into hockey, lacrosse and racing on the Charles River. BC's gorgeous campus in Chestnut Hill, the quiet leafy suburb west of the center, sees fewer visitors than some campuses, and some visiting ACC fans gently mock its wee stadium (44,500 capacity), but it packs a roar on fall Saturdays, when tailgaters pull out kielbasa and fresh lobster. It is also a place you can shop up last-minute and almost always manage to get a $37 seat. Why go Everyone talks about Harvard, but Boston College -- actually not in Boston, nor a college -- as a day's itinerary out of central Boston makes for a fun outing, particularly when it centers around one of its teams (hockey and basketball are at least as big as football). Chestnut Hill, between Brighton and Newton (of Fig Newton fame), is easily reached by the T, Boston's public transportation system. And its nice campus has just enough life to occupy the hours before and after kickoff. Though many just head to Brighton, a working-class area just east, for the bars. Away from football, Boston can easily fill several days. A perfect one might include a look at Harvard's campus, a walk around the Freedom Trail and a pint of Guinness in one of the many Irish pubs.

onward we march to victory !

If the rain comes they run and hide their heads.
They might as well be dead.
If the rain comes, if the rain comes.
When the sun shines they slip into the shade
And sip their lemonade.
When the sun shines, when the sun shines.
Rain, I don't mind.
Shine, the world looks fine.
I can show you that when it starts to rain,
Everything's the same.
I can show you, I can show you.
Rain, I don't mind.
Shine, the world looks fine.
Can you hear me, that when it rains and shines,
It's just a state of mind?

Thanks

A sincere Thank You to all who took the time and somehow found the Money to contribute to the Stephen Siller "For the children" Charity as part of my fundraising efforts, I definitely appreciate it. I will chug my way through the tunnel tomorrow with a zillion thoughts in my head, but I will find solace knowing the money we raised will somehow, someway find itself to a deserving kid and maybe make a difference , if even for a moment.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

is it rolling bob ?

the new world order

i don't know about you , but in light of recent developments on the ZAZI case, I know I would sleep better if I thought our CIA, FBI and all law enforcement were operating without handcuffs and in fear of prosecution by Holder and obama down the road.....why Risk violating zazi's "civil" rights to find out where and when the plot is to go down , who cares if you save thousands of lives, you are the one they will prosecute. this administration , in only 9 months ; has agreed to scrap our missile defense shield in Western Europe , and stood around with a thumb up their arse while Iran sprints to a Nuclear finish line..........we have bowed down to and buddied up to the Russians and alinieated our true allies including Poland. we have agreed to ridiculous rules of engagement ( see ralph peters below) that handcuff our troops and ensure increased casualties....God help the first Marine who calls in an airstrike while the Taliban is holding a civilian as a human shield...Holder & Obama will throw the book at em. maybe now , a small % of our borderline retarded nation , the ones who are addicted to Oprah, think obama is sophisticated and voted for him to show how open minded they are, maybe these same simpletons will wake up someday soon and realize this wasn't a high school popularity contest, maybe... When enemy action kills our troops, it's unfortu nate. When our own moral fecklessness murders those in uniform, it's unforgivable. In Afghanistan, our leaders are complicit in the death of each soldier, Marine or Navy corpsman who falls because politically correct rules of engagement shield our enemies. Mission-focused, but morally oblivious, Gen. Stan McChrystal conformed to the Obama Way of War by imposing rules of engagement that could have been concocted by Code Pink: * Unless our troops in combat are absolutely certain that no civilians are present, they're denied artillery or air support. McChrystal: Imposing restrictions that play into enemies' hands. * If any civilians appear where we meet the Taliban, our troops are to "break contact" -- to retreat. These ROE are a cave-in to the Taliban's shameless propaganda campaign that claimed innocents were massacred every time our aircraft appeared overhead. (Afghan President Mohammed Karzai and our establishment media backed the terrorists.) The Taliban's goal was to level the playing field -- to deny our troops their technological edge. Our enemies more than succeeded. And what has our concern for the lives of Taliban sympathizers accomplished? The Taliban now make damned sure that civilians are present whenever they conduct an ambush or operation. So they attack -- and we quit the fight, lugging our dead and wounded back to base. We've been through this b.s. before. In Iraq, we wanted to show respect to our enemies, so the generals announced early on that we wouldn't enter mosques. The result? Hundreds of mosques became terrorist safe houses, bomb factories and weapons caches. Why is this so hard to figure out? We tell our enemies we won't attack X. So they exploit X. Who wouldn't? It isn't just that war is hell. It's that war must be hell, otherwise why would the enemy ever quit?

Joke of the year

if this doesn't get your Monday started with a chuckle , then something is wrong with you , quite possibly the joke of the year, this was sent to the Sweater night Headquarters by Donnie Biesbol. The staff hasn't stopped laughing since it's arrival.

A magician worked on a cruise ship.

The audience was different each week so the magician did the same tricks over and over again.
There was only one problem: the captain's parrot saw the shows each week and began to understand how the magician did every trick. Once he understood, he started shouting in the middle of the show. 'Look, it's not the same hat!' or 'Look, he's hiding the flowers under the table!' or 'Hey, why are all the cards the ace of spades?'
The magician was furious but couldn't do anything. It was, after all, the captain's parrot.
Then one stormy night on the Pacific, the ship unfortunately sank, drowning almost all who were onboard. The magician luckily found himself on a piece of wood floating in the middle of the sea with, as fate would have it, the parrot.
They stared at each other with hatred but did not utter a word. This went on for a day... and then 2 days... and then 3 days. Finally on the 4th day, the parrot could not hold back any longer and said......

'OK, I give up. Where's the fUCKing ship?

Congratulations are in order

a fast moving rumor has swept Bayridge, Dan Woods recently past the 35 days sober checkpoint , a new Guinness World record....and speaking of Guinness.

BCS update

ugh !

Ga Tech was spanked by the Hurricanes Alice , a death blow to their ACC Title Hopes and subsequently any BCS consideration, it wasn't just a CONF loss, but a division loss as well, so in order to get back into the ACC title game , Miami will have to lose twice in the conf and the Jackets will have to go undefeated the rest of the way...considering we have to play our nemesis Va Tech , that will be tough.

Notre Dame......all Hail Charlie Weiss and the Irish , Damn the torpedoes , I like this guy and I like this Team , Yes they should have blown the Spartans back to East Lansing , and Yes the seem to lack that knockout punch, BUT they play with a lot of heart and great confidence, and I am gradually starting to like Claussen, and you have to love Kyle Rudolph......with home games against the Huskies and the Trojans in the next few weeks (after a visit to the biolermakers) , the IRISH can climb right back into the National spotlight.....

Navy............GRRRRRRRRRRRR......did not get to see the game , but the recaps emerging from the steel city are not pretty, 27-14 ....and it wasn't that close..hard to imagine that Pitt is that much better than Ohio State....not sure what transpired on the banks of the Allegheny, but coach Ken had better right this ship and quickly.......one observation though, as much as i like Ricky Dobbs....he has to share the ball more, keep the defense honest

on the national front , it was nice to see Washington Knock off the men of Troy.
GREAT win for the Black Knights of the Hudson over Ball State....there is life up at ole West Point , Army Stands @ 2-1 and loving it..bring on the cyclones.

Tunnel To Towers

I usually do not ask for people to sponsor me, especially in this day and age where everyone seems to have a hand out and there is not as much to go around as their used to be, but i feel pretty strongly about this one....if you don't know Stephen Sillers story , google him and read up , in any event I am sick and fkn tired of how quickly this country forgets whatever is incovenient to remember , and so i am running through the Battery Tunnel on Sunday Sept 27th to try and keep one tradition alive for as long as possible, the bigger this race gets , the more mainstream media is forced to report and cover it....who knows, maybe some Monday after the race we'll pick up a paper and there will be a story about Steve Siller and ALL the people that ran in is Honor/Memory on the front page ....instead of page 19 after all the juicy stories about the celebutards and obamas hollywood left......if you can run great, if you drop a few sheckles into the foundation, even better.

If you click on the subject "tunnel to towers" it will redirect you to my pledge page.

Catholic Boy

add Jim Carroll to the list of "people who died, died, died" , he wrote an interesting book that was later butchered into a crap hollywood movie , then he formed a band and had brief success, he basically just stopped and told the stories of the insanity that exists in every group of friends in every NY neighborhood , at least that insanity existed in the 60's, 70's and early 80's New York ....not really sure "that" world is around anymore, everything is way too serious, every mistake magnified, the drugs aren't safe or fun anymore, there seems to be a lack of affable clowns who roam the streets with nowhere to go and nothing to become, everyone has a sharp edge these days, don't get me wrong , the seedy underbelly existed always, but it seemed to be more of balance back then, but maybe that was just a distortion of my own youth...anyway if you never read the "Basketball Diaries", it is worth checking out, I read it in the summer of 1980 between Freshmen and Sophomore year, I may read it again if I can find it......also if you never listened to his signature album "Catholic Boy" ...that is worth listening to , if for no other reason than to think about those people who died, died ,died

NEW YORK — Jim Carroll, the poet and punk rocker who wrote "The Basketball Diaries," died Friday. He was 60.

He died from a heart attack at his home in Manhattan, his ex-wife Rosemary Carroll told the New York Times.

In the 1970s, Carroll was a fixture of the burgeoning downtown New York art scene, where he mixed with artists such as Andy Warhol, Patti Smith, Larry Rivers and Robert Mapplethorpe. His life was shaped by drug use, which he wrote about extensively.

Carroll also published several poetry collections, while his 1980 album, "Catholic Boy," has been hailed as a landmark punk record, and he became known for one of its songs, "People Who Died."

But it was "The Basketball Diaries," his autobiographical tale of life as a sports star at Trinity, an elite private high school in Manhattan, that brought him his widest audience. The son of a bar owner, Carroll attended the school on a basketball scholarship.

The book, which began life as a journal, was first published in 1978 and then became even more popular, particularly on college campuses, when it was issued as a mass-market paperback two years later. A 1995 movie version starred Leonardo DiCaprio.

****BREAKING NEWS *****

The high tides had to stop in the middle of an 18 minute version of Bertha at the big Cadotte Family Reunion to page one Anthony Bart , it seems Brian Duffy was soooo exhubirant with the 1st half performance of his Gang Green Savior Mark Counseulo Ripa Sanchez that he took off his apron, vacated his spot behind the bar and joined the happy revelers on the good side of the Mahogany for a round ( and another and another) of Jamesons....."tell Bart I'm taking a half day " Duff shouted to Lil Timmy ...."and tell him I am taking off for all Jet Home Playoff Games and the SuperBowl"....he then raced to the front door of Pippins to padlock the entrance before his nemesis K-Mac could get in and jinx his J-E-T-S Magic...

stay tuned for this developing story....

BCS Update

Ga Tech = The Jackets keep stinging , buzzed out to a 24-0 lead only to find themselves trailing Howards' Rock and the Clemson Tigers 27-24 in the 4th...never worry , never fear , Coach Johnsons here to save the day and the perfect season remains intact, 30-27....not sure if you saw the fake field goal in the 2nd quarter....Coach of the Year is all I can say.

ND = uh-oh......i'm not ready to sack Charlie yet, I think the refs and the breaks were against us all day.....I think we outplayed them from gun to whistle , but the scoreboard says otherwise...I thought the Irish played with a great deal of confidence, which I have not seen in a long time, and I though Claussen and the offense looked GREAT....still not sure how they lost , time will tell if this was legit road loss or a disastrous setback.

Navy = nice bounce back from heartbreak hill to spank La Tech at NMCS , it is a game we are supposed to win and we did , nice cover too , layin 8 , won by 18....that's the way Coach Ken draws it up on the board....offense was typically great after a slow start, defense was swarming....gave up 7 on special teams and only 7 (after a turnover) the rest of the day...GO MIDS.

after watching Ohio State loose to USC at the horseshoe by 3 , it is fair to say the Navy is within a touchdown of the Trojans on a neutral site , and if they ever had the guts to even schedule us, let alone visit the Lovely Chesapeake Bay , NAVY WOULD WIN........who amongst you can argue with such sound logic ?

oh Deer !

so me and Gravey ( Top Dog in Monmouth County 3 of the last 4 years) are out for our Saturday mornin stroll and we get to our corner....."our corner" not the middle of the deadwood forest mind ya....and whom do we see standing on our neighbors lawn ? well he looked a lot like the guy pictured above , so naturally Graves is shaking with anticipation, she has never Killed ( I mean played with) an animal of this size , so she is salivating at the chance to take on this buck.....I on the other hand am not.....this friggin thing was big , so Graves starts to pull on her leash and yelping , lunging towards this Deer.....the Deer Bolts , immediately followed by two more that were lurking behind the bushes, and the three of em go hopping back into the Woods....it was impressive to see them bounce away from so close, Gravey stopped dead in her tracks and shot me a look over her should that was priceless....as if to ask " What the Blank was that?"........oh deer , was all I said to her...OH Deer !

will the wind remember ?

the swaying trees and rambunctious seas
announce the dawn of another year,
just like the ones before, spirits arrive at your door
to reclaim....the lives they left too soon.
Fear not , they come in peace
to the homes and cubicles where they should still dwell
to the lives they left behind against their will, not by their choice.
acknowledge the howl on this day if no other
they are roaring in unison to remind.

joe wilson

very inappropriate of Joe Wilson (R-SC) because now the focus becomes "him" instead of this miserable health care reform plan that before last night even Democrats did not endorse.....lets hope this outburst does not inspire them to go it alone.

for the record they were both right , Wilson absolutely understands obamas intenstion of having you and I pay for healthcare of illegal immigrants.

obama....in the ultimate clintonesque stance , told the truth too......this plan will not insure illegals......Because I plan to grant amnesty and citizenship to those who are currently living here illegally.....a catch 22....the horse or the cart ...

as we used to say in the Navy "we are in sh*ts creek without a canoe, let alone a fkin paddle."

lyrics revisited

Bow Weir and Ratdog "Ashes & Glass" , if you have never had the pleasure...make an attempt, the version on ratdogs live album is best.

What if all tomorrow brings is ashes and glass
And I can't tell you child, "This too shall pass"
If all the world were windswept cold and grey
And in the end there's nothing left to say

If all the silicone, best laid plans
Became the master and the fall of man
If all the world were baked to hard red clay
It's not so far from where we are today
Ah well anyway

Come on darlin, let's swing n sway
Daddy gonna find us a better way
And if that better way don't float
Daddy gonna find us a tighter boat
And if that tighter boat don't sail
Grab a bucket, babe, and start to bail
And if that bucket spring a leak
Little miss, we're up the creek

What if fire come raining on the hills
And mountains made of rusting Coupe de Villes
And all God's children find themselves alone
And all the poets took to throwing stones
Guess we're on our own, no way out and no way home

Come on child, we can sing
Daddy gonna grab that ole brass ring
And if that ole brass ring don't fit
Daddy gonna get to fixin it
And if that ole brass ring stay broke
Daddy gonna buy you a billy goat
And if that billy goat don't bark
Give that goat the ole kick start

What if all tomorrow brings is ashes and glass
And I can't tell you child, "This too shall pass"
If those four horsemen can't be turned away
And everyone's too paralyzed to pray

Too paralyzed to pray
And the jury's out on judgement day
And there ain't nothing left to say
Nothing left to say

Come on darlin, we can fly
Daddy got a stack of alibis
An alibi shot full of holes
Little miss, let's rock n roll
And if that roll takes us to France
Teach them froggies how to dance
But keep on dancin sing the tune
Cuz We'll be dancin all around the moon
And if that big ole moon go bust
ashes to ashes babe n dust to dust
Maybe it's time for one last rave
And we'll be dancing on our own graves'
On our own graves

BCS Update

Ga Tech title hopes took a hit ....no not because of their performance ( they rolled Jax State) but the ACC sucks and its obvious early....Va Tech lost to Alabama, MARYland got crushed by Cal......our in-state rival from the SEC Georgia lost to OK state...so our annual win over the dawgs in november looses some steam....coach Johnson does know it will take a perfect season to crack the BCS this year.

ND ? 35-0 over Nevada ....time will tell if that's impressive or not , Claussen looked good, but I still don't trust him, not sure why , he just seems sneaky.

Navy....heartbreakin loss definitely cost us a shot at the Natl title, although if we run the table , win another CIC Trophy, spank the Irish in South Bend (again!) we should be bowling come Christmas.

so close...

In CASE all you hucksters who like to poke fun at Navy Football missed it yesterday, the MIDSHIPMEN went into the horseshoe and were within a two point conversion of tying the #6 Team in the nation in the closing minute. there are no moral victories, but I was very impressed with our offense and pleasantly surprised with our run defense, I will take solace in the fact that we can hang on the road against a BCS school.....we are getting there, a national Championship is eminent.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Brian Rolle intercepted a potential two-point conversion in the closing minutes and returned it for two points the other way, helping No. 6 Ohio State hold off Navy 31-27 on Saturday.

A crowd of 105,092 - the largest ever to see the Buckeyes open a season - sat in stunned silence after the Midshipmen scored twice in just over 4 minutes to cut a 29-14 deficit to two points with 2:23 left in the game.

Navy went for the conversion and the tie, but Rolle stepped in front of Ricky Dobbs' pass and rumbled up the sideline to preserve the win in the Midshipmen's first trip to Ohio Stadium since 1931

squeaky

special request from Steve Mac we have located a photo of Squeaky Fromme , "enough with that anna kournakova crap...get some real beauties on this blog already" shouted Mcadoo into his cellphone from the Schimmerhorne "Micheal Jackson" street station of the MTA secret union meetings.......as always, we oblige.
