kobe said it was consensual.
the girl went to the police and they performed a rape kit....her bruising and injuries were NOT consistent with consensual sex.
she had been choked and had bruising on her cheekbones.
Kobe bought her silence and she refused to testify.
as part of the settlement he had to apologize.
he issued a statement that painted himself as the victim of poor judgement...…..black privilege ?

on sunday while the mainstream media was canonizing the smoldering kobe, a Washington Post female reporter tweeted stories from 2003 rape accusation/settlement.
on Monday that reporter was suspended for poor judgement.
she had not made a statement , she merely retweeted stories that had appeared in national newspapers 17 years earlier.

the empire state building was bathed in purple and gold lights honoring kobe.
the empire state building is infamous for refusing to bath it's iconic spire with Carolina blue in honor of Mother Theresa on her passing......hmmm.

I could sit here all morning sharing the highlights and great memories from the career of Eli Manning, but instead I will share a simple observation.......it has become increasingly clear that Eli is and will be the LAST player I truly care about.......I don’t go to many games of any sport anymore, I watch games But only as a distraction..... I follow sports through the papers and internet.....I continue to root for my favorite teams....but the older I get, the less invested I am in the games..... I loved Eli.....was proud of him and stood up for him in barroom discussions.....I took it personal when people tried to put him down or ridicule him......he was a Giant on and off the field......I suppose it happens to everyone at some point, but I kind of hate the modern athletes....I don’t see them as worthy of respect or deserving of admiration.....now that Eli is gone, so too is my fanatic support and concern for the team....any team.....Thanks Eli....there wasn’t a single day or moment that I didn’t want you as my Quarterback.....you can join George Thomas Seaver, Dave Debusschere and Mike Richter in my personal hall of fame.

Beat Army......I got to watch the Liberty Bowl on tape yesterday and although ESPN tried to ruin the singing of Almer Mater by conducting an on field interview, I managed to catch a glimpse of what seemed to be the entire Kansas State team staying on the field while Navy sang.....it was a refreshing display of sportsmanship....nice job
