in the dead of winter.....with bars in NYC closed and the northeast blanketed with snow and frigid temps....in the middle of a pandemic , with states still in lockdown......you would think the ratings for the superbowl would be the highest in history......i mean....what else was there to do on a sunday evening ? can't go to the movies, can't go to dinner....and yet the ratings were the worst in 14 years......maybe , just maybe ; somewhere in the nfl coroprate offices, someone is realizing that actions have consequences....and when you alienate have the country your popularity is going to take a hit.

small quiet side note....Mark Cuban yesterday admitted that the Dallas mavericks made the decision to forego playing the national anthem before games this year........my question....if he feels this is the right move and he's not worried about backlash, why didn't he have a press release on opening night ? why wait 2 months into a season to admit it after relentless questioning by local press ?
