Soooooo......for those of you keeping score at home......if your religious beliefs are such that you need to annually slaughter chickens in the street , good news....you have the religious freedom to do so.....
But if your religious beliefs are such that you feel the need to refrain from signing a gay marriage license or catering a gay marriage or making flower arrangements for gay weddings, you are held in contempt of court or your private business is fined and you are hit with a lawsuit.

Observations from the Bean Post Window
It's ironic and sad that at a time where oul is at its cheapest price in a very long time.....a factor that would continue to cripple Irans economy.....a factor that should drive them to the negotiation table begging for relief from sanctions and voluntarily shuttering their Nuclear ambitions......we are instead tossing them a billion dollar lifeline and ensuring they not only survive this financial crisis from lost oil revenues, but actually strive , purchase conventional weapons and build a BOMB....sad
And while barry Hussein is jetting around Alaska renaming mountains and lecturing us about global warming, and blaming us for leaving future generations with weather related issues from glaciers melting........he has no problem with our kids and grandkids living in a nuclear age with the ayotollahs having a BOMB..........a BOMB they will shoot into orbit.......wiping satellite technology and destroying our banking systems as well as our radar to detect and protect from future attacks.
And where once POTUS ...POS.....felt compelled to weigh in on every crime against blacks fm coast to coast.......( the Beer Summit...... Treyvon could be my son.....sending the attorney general to Ferguson... And summoning sharpton to the blackhaus after Eric garner resisted arrest )......he's quieter than a church mouse as Our Police nationwide are under attack and being executed......
I know its over......but I blog for future generations to realize that not everyone was drinking the Kool Aid.

Scam of the millennium
If you thought the Grateful Dead farewell shows in Chicago were a scam, you ain't seen nothing yet.
As bad as it was for the DEAD & Company to announce a fall tour while some suckers were still making their way home from the "Farewell" shows in Chicago......Pippins has them beat.
After a month long pilgrimage from loyal customers and folks who just had to be a part of something for FOMO reasons , Pippins announced on the eve of the shutdown, that they would be reopening ( can you call it reopening if you never really closed?) At a popup location on 91st and 3rd.
Glad I didn't save my receipts for memorabilia.... Or my ez pass charges........when reached at BarA for comment on Francessa Day....my head linesman Chaz Higgins suggested that we now had an opening paragraph for the SN 18 letter.
What did Duff know ?

a dark complexion
that was the description of the coward that shot a Houston Sheriff in the back as he pumped gas in uniform......if we are afraid to call criminals what they are......White, Black, Hispanic , Asian, Middle Eastern, whatever.......we are doomed..................a Dark Complexion........maybe he just came from a tanning bed....maybe his ancestors are from Sicily .......
when that jackoff dylan ruff shot those innocent folks in the prayer service the rush was on to condem the confederate Flag.....obviously the flag was the culprit.....lets go after Ruff and everyone kind of like ruff and hold their ancestory and upringing in contempt and put those things on trial.
what that jackoff bryce williams or dj flanagan or whatever his name is killed those innocent folks during a live TV station interview the rush was on the condem congress and the NRA for not agreeing on gun control.
if you thinks its bad now, imagine a world where law abiding folks have to surrender their guns and only the criminals with nothing to loose are carrying weapons.......i've never owned a gun and i probably never will.....i rely on law enforcement to keep me safe and i try my best to use common sense and avoid high crime areas whenever possible.....but i support 200% the rights of law abiding citizens to register and own guns........I also totally believe that the fact that Americans own their own weapons will prevent a President from ever trying to become a dictator...........certainly our politicans won't.....they will follow the pied piper of their own parties into hell if it means bigger bread crumbs along the way ( Thats both Dems and Repubs).......and we see already how a 2 term President can cripple and demoralize a once Strong and Proud Military.....imagine if he had a 3rd term ?

Like a raisin in the sun
Do me a favor, let's hold off on that congressional medal for Stevie Wonder for giving a "free" concert in Central Park.
To hear the local news reports this day, one might surmise that the aforementioned Mister wonder had found a cure for penicillin......when in fact. He used taxpayer dollars and central park to promote his upcoming tour ( Tix for that are not free).
He played for 40 minutes and talked about his upcoming shows.....he pulled the same stunt in Washington and filthadelphia earlier in the day......why not Baltimore ( where's dat?)
Every station in the tristate area picked up the story and ran clips from the concert.....he got more air time today than when he was a geust on the Bob Hope Christmas special.............. How much coverage would a traditional press conference have received ?
So he was very smart, very shrewd business and he probably enjoyed playing......I appluad that.........but he's not mother Theresa bringing free music to the ghetto.....si let's give it a rest.
Incidentally..... His new wife was in attendance...... Maron Ami.......have you ever seen this broad ? ? ?

the cynical new yorker
so as i ripped my beloved mets for 48 hours at the trade deadline, even i had to ask myself WHY ?
why did i simultaneously express anger at both proposed deals and the lack thereof ?
why so much venom and vinegar being spewed in the direction of my favorite franchise, where did all this distrust, anger and angst get its genesis ? I may have a partial explanation.
I was 12 years old in the summer of 1977.......my name was Thomas and I was a Mets fan.....the years preceding my 12th birthday had been extremely good to this young mets fan.....i saw my team knockoff the big Red Machine in the NLCS....i even went to game 4 of that series, we had a chance to clinch.....the excitement and nervous feeling still seem fresh today......we went on the play the Swinging A's and came within 1 win of our 2nd World Series triumph, and the MAN that ruled the Roost....the Best pitcher in baseball, my idol and namesake ( George really, shh) Thomas "Tom Terrific" Seaver was a Met for life.....and so as a naive 12 year old i thought.............i should have known better.......less than 2 years prior my beloved Rangers 'WAIVED" the franchise netminder in a space clearing, money saving , heartless move.....Eddie, Eddie, Eddie Giacoman has been let go....only to return 2 nights later in the hated Redwings Jersey and admitted to crying throughout the game under his mask ( it's okay Wilmer) as the Garden faithful chanted his name throughout....EDDIE.....EDDIE....EDDIE........i cried that night as a 10 year old listening to Marv Albert describe the scene and i vowed to hate the Rangers till death.....that passed.....
fast forward 2 years to the spring and summer of 1977.....i read the scumbag Dick Youngs column everyday as he whined on and on about Seavers contract and how ungrateful the franchise pitcher was......we should have realized then that Young was on the mets secret payroll and was smeering our hero to soften the unfathomable upcoming blow........it didnt work of course........and on June 15th, Bayrdige...Brooklyn....New York,....the Tri state area...and the world were knocked for a loop when M. Donald Grant traded George Thomas Seaver to the Cincinatti Reds (theres that color again) for a package of players that all sucked........the franchise would sink to the bottom of the national league and become the laughing stock of baseball for years to come....
as painful as it was to see him in a Reds uniform.....to throw a No Hitter for somebody else while we still await our first ( santanA doesnt count)....the worst was yet to come........after the 1982 season we got him back........we greeted him with soldout exhuberance on opening day 1983 and all was right with universe...he even struckout that douchebag Pete Rose on opening day........and then after the 83 season......instead of a career ending long term deal.....they left him UNPROTECTED..........and he was stolen by the White Sox.....forced to wear that silly softball team uniform and win his 300th game in Yankee Stadium........
in the years to come we would sit in the upper deck and watch management dismantle the 86 Mets for financial and political reason, they again painted our heros as demons.....left them on the sidelines while Shea closed and Citifield opened...as if 86 never happened......
so there is a lot resentment and hatred i feel towards this franchise......but only because i care....because I love the Mets so much.....like Wilmer......like Zack Wheeler........we dont have to win the series......but please Wilpon....for the love of God....leave us some dignity.......

Emotional Rescue
Forgive me if I am a little weepy today......but news of our supreme leader barry hussein visiting Kenya have made me nostalgic.
29 years ago this very week I was on my way back to Diego Garcia after a successful 15 days leave in Bayridge for the reopening of the Statue of Liberty......
There is no commercial airline permitted to serve Diego, so you have to fly in military aircraft..... Which means you sit parachute style along the walls of the plane with pallets of cargo....no windows...... And you have to ask permission to use the head.
My flight plan took me from Newark to Norfolk, to Banger Maine, to Rota Spain then to Siggonella Sicily and then to Nairobi.......5 flights over 30 plus hours....layovers as they unloaded and loaded pallets onto the plane....and we weren't allowed to get off.........upon arriving in Kenya we were told there was a problem with the plane and we had to disembark while it was fixed......we were in civilian clothes of course, but we were greeted by machine gun toting stymies and escorted to a private room in the airport..... Not allowed to mingle with the general public..... But they had a small service bar.....so I had a few quasi chilled bottles of "Tusker" beer....as the afternoon wore on, we were told they could not fix the plane until later that night.... And since the Kenyan military could not secure the runway after dark, we would have to spend the night. ( there was a civil war going on at the time. Isn't there always ? )
So.....the State Department picked the 8 passengers and 6 crew members up and took us to the Hilton.....we gad to share rooms....I can't remember my roommates name, but he was fm Oklahoma or Nebraska........ "Do not leave your rooms for any reason, you will be captured and taken hostage....order room service and we will be back to get you at 5:00 a.m."
Well......suffice to say that 18 seconds after the State Department left our room, I was in the next elevator...... I convinced my roommate to come downstairs for a drink in the lobby.....and then to hit a few other Hotel Bars on the strip....( I didn't want to get captured alone)......and so we drank our Tusker Beer and talked about College Football, and i imagined I was in the same watering holes as Hemingway in snows of Killiminjaro.....back from a wild game hunt where I shot a rhinoceros and 2 wilderbeast...... And the next morning we boarded our plane with machine gun escort and flew to Athens and finally Diego.
Who knows..... Maybe barry Hussein's dad was cooking the family dog for dinner in the hills by the airport..... Or in the kitchen of the Hilton for that matter.
Anyway....... Maybe he'll get caught in the crossfire of the civil war..... I'm sure it's still going on

Nuke deal cont'd

Nuke deal
Oh Sarah Silverman.... You witty Little bitch.....remember when you pleaded with your jewish American Friends to tell their grandparents in Florida that they wouldn't come visit unless they voted for Obama ?
Well your beloved Isreal doesn't have a friend in the world now......nobody will support an airstrike on irans nuclear facilities.... Thanks to obama and his "legacy" building deal......10 years ? That's less than a blink of an eye in the historical timeline...... Let's hope cooler heads prevail and this deal is rejected internationally..... But if not, say goodbye to your ancestors Sarah.

Parade Day in the city
No...they arent throwing a parade for the Mets for being over .500 at the all-star break...but they should.
seriously....first let me state that I love the US Womens Natl Soccer team....they are good , and they're pretty hot....not all that butched-up like previous years...these gals are stunners.
secondly....i fully support and embrace the idea of throwing them a ticker-tape parade down the canyon of Heroes....they deserve this spotlight.
my problems lie with the politicians and media jerkoffs that ruin everything......
first, why are there Floats for the Red Bulls and NY Futbol Club ? 2 mens teams that are professionals and happen to play in the tri-state .....why is this becoming national soccer day ? money, money, MONEY....sad.....
next deblasio......he stated to the effect that this team represents want women can accomplish and what needs to change in society..........wrong on every level..........they won a womens tournament......someone had to win....there were no mens teams in the womens world cup this year, so WTF is he talking about......next, what needs to change in society ? should women be limited to competing against each other , like the world cup....is that what he meant ? womens only schools, and professions ? i'm lost.
the media today will undoubtedly twist a feel good moment into something that its not, they are already talking about equal pay for professional women soccer players compared to men....not sure why they can't focus on 23 girls that won an international championship and are beloved by their country.....isnt that a good enough story ?
