wake up to the sound of music

so my alarm blasts off at 3:30 like always ( 1/2 an hour ago) and I am battling a Fenway Park induced cold, so i am slightly whacked out on over the counter meds , and what song does my ipod alarm pick to wake me this day ? 8 miles high ....as i lie and listen I became intrigued with the lyrics......safe to say Mcguinn et al may have been 8 miles high when they scribed this one:

Eight miles high and when you touch down
You’ll find that it’s stranger than known
Signs in the street that say where you’re going
Are somewhere just being their own

Nowhere is there warmth to be found
Among those afraid of losing their ground
Rain gray town known for it’s sound
In places small faces unbound

Round the squares huddled in storms
Some laughing some just shapeless forms
Sidewalk scenes and black limousines
Some living some standing alone
