journalistic integrity ?

where are the self loathsome liberals on this one......the America hating left that insists it is okay to burn the U.S. Flag as a demonstration of your First Ammendment rights.......and yet , here we have a major market newspaper, the LA Times, just days before the Nation casts votes in the most important election of our collective lives, refusing to air a tape that shows one of the candidates in a light he has tried very hard to convince is not him.......The Tape (full story below) is of Ossama Obama hangin with the PLO in 2003......less than 24 months after the attacks on America.....and we rallied as a nation and proclaimed "Never Forget" ......forgive me if I chuckle at that one......Never forget ? as we stand on the precipice of suicide......never forget ? sad.......... obama claims that although he attended Rev Wrights church for 20 years, he does not shares the views of that man and has distanced himself from that church........obama who shared cocktails and rubbed elbows with admitted terrorist bomber Bill Ayers but does not share his extreme views and claims " I was only 8" when that bombing happened......by that logic , it would be okay if 30 years from now , someone running for president could have cocktails with the Ossama Bin Laden and claim " I was only 8 in 2001"....obama...why are you so quiet about Rashid Khalidi ? why are you so scared of this tape airing ?......let America see it , buy up 30 minutes of prime time television with your illegal donations and proclaim that you have distanced yourself from Rashid Kalidi and his extremist views and move on.......you have an ignorant public at your feet , adoring your every move , in a satanic trance, like mushrooms they wish to be kept in the dark and force mad manure..........I have officially suspended the Gato for El Presidente~ campaign and decided to put the jokes on the shelf until after the election , this is too serious to be making light.........anyway , after the 4th , the World may be laughing at America.

one last crack, if my adversaries ever unearthed damaging footage of me hanging with Dano in Breezy or on a bus to that Liberal Free State of Montreal , I would never distance myself from the Woodman....no sirree....I would stand by my future Ambassador to Diego Garcia 100% ...........if I ever did win the election I would put together a cabinet that rivaled the Holland family Liquor Cabinet on 73rd street back in the day.........yes sir, no more jokes....

The Los Angeles Times is standing on what it calls journalistic integrity - a promise made to its source - in refusing to release a 2003 videotape of Barack Obama fulsomely praising a Palestinian apologist for armed "resistance" against Israel.

Pardon our skepticism.

The paper, which has endorsed Obama, said it obtained the tape from "a confidential source" who demanded "that we not release it."

But what of the public's right to know?

Does anyone seriously believe that, as John McCain said yesterday, "if there was a tape with me and Sarah Palin and some neo-Nazi . . . you think that that tape wouldn't be made public?"

In its defense, the paper says that it published "a detailed account" of the videotape back in April.

True enough - although the paper also won't release a full transcript.

The tape shows Obama, then an Illinois legislator, speaking at a dinner hosted by Arab-Americans for Rashid Khalidi, a Palestinian activist and professor who was headed for Columbia University.

Who is Khalidi, and why should Americans be concerned about Obama's relationship with him? See Gabriel Schoenfeld's profile of the activist-scholar on the opposite page.

On the tape, Obama says his many dinners with Khalidi have been "consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases," and adds: "For that reason, I'm hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation."

Such words aren't likely to reassure supporters of Israel - indeed, as the Times itself reported, it explains why Palestinian partisans believe that Obama "is . . . receptive to their cause."

The Obama campaign yesterday insisted that its candidate "has been clear that Rashid Khalidi is not an adviser to him or his campaign and that he does not share Khalidi's views."

But when did that become "clear"?

Shouldn't responsible journalists be asking that question?

And shouldn't LA Times owner Sam Zell be demanding that his underlings make the tape public?

Yes, he should!

Meanwhile, the founders of The Politico report that "Obama will win the votes of 80 percent or more of the journalists covering the election."

And journalists wonder why Americans don't trust the media.
