Quality Win

If you were lucky enough to watch the F L A Derby yesterday , you may have seen something that will earn you a few dollars down the Road (Quality Road that is) .......Dunkirk caught the field and pulled even with the leader "Quality Road" coming off the final turn , looked like he was gonna blow right by em all.......But then Quality Road looked em in the eye and said goodnight , pulling away in grand style to win the Floridian Derby....look for the replay today if you missed the live action...it was impressive.

What was not impressive was the sour grapes that Todd Pletcher showed in the Post Race interview , crying about the ultrafast condition of the track and bemoaning that he would have gone to the Big A if he had known......his steed Dunkirk now sits on the bubble of qualifying for the KY Derby.

The Swale stakes ended in a DQ for the first time in its 24 year history as Desormaux and Coa bumped twice down the stretch, the stewards took down Coa.....but it was the correct call.

Jerry Bailey , Hand Goldberg and a few others gave their top 5 for the Derby yesterday and Midshipmen was nowhere to be seen.........also missing was MR Baffert and Pioneer of the Nile....not sure what that is all about...

next Saturday we have the Wood, The Santa Anita and the Illinois......we should learn a lot.
