on this miserable rain soaked tuesday, let's take a break from politics to talk some sports.....and my personal favorite punching bag....the little ten.

the big ten and the writers that cover the conference have it all figured out.......if we put as many of our teams in the top 25 as we possibly can, then whomever emerges from Conf play with have a nice resume of wins over ranked teams.....that's the only way you can explain it........the schoole themselves seemed to have figured out that strength of schedule means little or nothing, so there is no reason to schedule a tough non -conference opponent.......all power conferences play powder puff games, but the little ten seems to be shying away from any real non conference ranked teams.......and sadly when they did play someone with a pulse it didn't go so well.

Ohio State lost to Oregon at the Horseshoe  , Whisky lost to ND , Nebraska lost to Oklahoma, Purdue lost to ND, .......even the wins weren't against this years top teams....Penn St beat Auburn, Michigan State beat Miami, Iowa beat Iowa St  and Mighty Michigan beat an unranked Washington team , but at least it was someone from a power conf .

still...somehow ...this conf has 4 teams in the top 9......this week #6 Mich plays #8Mich State....and the winner will have an impressive victory over a top 10 opponent......Penn State.......lost to Iowa ( Iowa got crushed by Purdue)....Penn State lost fo friggin Illinois....in happy valley......and in 9 ot's.....PSU could not convert on 7 straight two point conversion attempts.......and this week when Ohio State beats them by 50 it will count as a win over a ranked opponent.....somehow PSU is still ranked #20.......who knows....maybe if they get enough style points they will leap frog Cincinnati and make their way into a playoff spot.......i am not a big ND guy.....but they don't shy away from a tough schedule....some years like this years, their opponents aren't having great seasons....but in fairness the schedule is made years in advance.......so far they have beaten power Conf Opponents USC, Whisky, Purdue, @ Va Tech,  @ Florida State, they still have to play 4 more in UNC, Virginia, Georgia Tech and Stanford...... their breathers come against Toledo and Navy ( not exactly Fordham and Villanova who Nebraska and PSU played ) and so far their lone loss was against the #2 Cincy Bearcats........good enough only for a #11 ranking .....i think every team on their schedule has been ranked in the top 25 at some point over the last 5 or 10 years

anyway i suppose i should just sit back and enjoy it while we still have it......Coach Huggins on the basketball side at WVU says it makes no sense that the power conferences continue to share revenue from the NCAA mens basketball tournament with the likes of Robert Morris (NEC) and any of the other smaller conference champions that qualify for the Tourney ( Never mind the fact that these schools continue to show on the court that they belong....ie Loyola)....it's all about revenue Huggins says......the power conferences should walk away from the NCAA mens tourney and hold their own tournament amongst themselves and sell the rights to CBS and keep ALL the Money.........translation ?  Fuck Cinderalla..........but at least he's honest, even if his opinion is unpopular.

***i am a little too upset to even talk about Fauci sponsored experiments on dogs...maybe tomorrow , all i can say is that when i sit in the yard with my Pooch, it reinforces my strained belief in a higher power**
