i never really cared much for new years eve and so this year too i will just skip it.....partly because i am still sick with the China Flu but mainly because New Years Day is now and always will be one of my favorite days of the year.....and so i chose to rest up and celebrate the NEW YEAR and say good riddance to the one that has passed.....i do so with Beer, Music, Beer, sports and BEEEEEER.......you said beeeeer 3 times....well i'm just getting started.
Genesis,,,,,Jorma......i doubt there has been a Jan1 since i was 9 or 10 and did not listen to that song at some point......literally the beginning.....it simply must be listened to on new yeras day......and i always chose optimistic happy, feel good songs for New Years day......here a few on my annual playlist

optimistic, new beginnings, new days dawn.....nothing quite like New Years Day....today is the first day of the rest of your life and all that nonsense.....but seriously....wake up early tomorrow with a clear head, crack a beer, play some tunes and if possible go to the ocean........i have always managed to walk by the water on Jan 1.....whether it be the Narrows, the Atlantic, Indian Ocean or Carribean Sea from the deck of a ship or the boardwalk in Seabright the last 20 years....the ocean tells us no lies......listen to the waves cracking, time waitts for no man, everything is evolving and revolving and coming and going and all at the same time......breath deep the fresh air, patt yourself on the back for another year in the books and treat yourself to a beverage, a bite to eat and some all american athletic competition diversion......the earth is billions of years old, and yet we managed to exist on the planet at the same time as Jerry Garcia.....put that in yer pipe and smoke it.

Don’t know why but I always liked to start off the New Year with Highway Star. After I escape that cesspool known as NYC and get home, will have to have a few drinks, blast that and bury this past year.
