History is a lesson they all refuse to learn.....i'm talking hockey on the eve of the draft, not politics.
Stanley Cups may occasionally be won at the trade deadline, but Dynasty's are built in the draft.
The Blackhawks have 8 draft picks in the first 3 rounds , (one of which is of course Connor Bedard)
and this isn't just any old draft....this is considered by scouts and draft analysts to be the deepest and best draft in the past 30 years....choose wisely and you should contend for a decade or two.
The Deadwings have 6 in the first 3 rounds and 10 overall.....can't help but think the Stevie Y will build a champion, just like he did in Tampa.
My beloved Coyotes have 2 in the 1st.....7 in the first 3....and 12 overall.....giddy up....wherever this team ends up, that city is getting a well stacked farm system ready to win.
The Preds have 13 picks.......7 in the first 3 rounds.......incoming GM Barry Trotz should have Nashville back in the finals in a few years.
locally....the Rangers held on the their 1st round pick...but no picks in rd 2 thanks to Patrick Kane and only 1 in the 3rd round.
anyway this isn't the same as the NFL....most of these selections will spend some time in the minors, so the impact will take time......all the more reason to stockpile picks, draft well and develop
the Satans and the fishstix do not have 1st rd picks this year......this is the 4th straight year the Islanders have not had a 1st round selection......this is a franchise in decline......so that's good .
anyway i still have faith in Chris Drury, although i have zero faith in Peter Lavalamp...oh well
