dissolved into the bells of the Lightning

Tolling for the rebel, tolling for the rake

Tolling for the luckless, the abandoned an’ forsaked

Tolling for the outcast, burnin’ constantly at stake  (Dylan)

this past week it's amazing that our country did not die from a Hamlin overdose.....any insignificant, virtue signaling , cheesy tribute that was worth doing, was overdone........from the 30 yard line in most stadiums being outlined in Bills Red & Blue (if you didn't know, Hamlin wore #3 you insensitive brute) to some moron on the NFL Network wearing Hamlin's jersey backwards so we can see his name( as if we didn't know a Blue Bills #3 Jersey was for Hamlin) and he wore it for 8 hours, every time they switched back to the studio this crumb was sitting at the desk with professionally dressed commentators , but he was repping with his backwards jersey...obviously he cared more. And the award for the stupidest tribute goes to the Denver Broncos as they had a player from each team meet at the 30-yard line for a pree game kneel down and symbolic prayer.....not just any players...but the players from each team that wear #3 (get it, get it?) not a dry eye in the house for a person they never met or even knew existed 6 days ago. As for the modern-day NFL player, the ones he had to dig deep into their souls to find a way to put that uniform back on, collect that check and somehow play a game .... whew, it was tough, but they somehow did it. These wonderful, caring, misunderstood members of society, somehow soldiered on against all odds...changed forever. Until Alex Smith of the Steelers sacked the QB and collapsed on the field as part of his pre-planned Spontaneous celebration, and his teamate Demarvin leal performed mock CPR.....yep changed forever. And the winner for tone deaf self-importance award goes to Green Bay's Quay Walker, 6 days after medical staff saved his "Brother" Hamlins life on the field, good old Quay shoved the Detroit Lions medical staff as they dared to tend to an injured player on the Lambeau turf. ( editors note, at least guys like Demarvin and Quay always get the right coffee when waiting in line @ Starbucks......maybe their mommies were playing scrabble when they were born). Kudos the Raja who pointed out how the NFL and the media ran Tim Teebow out of the league for having the audacity to take a knee in prayer after scoring a touchdown just a few years ago.......and today if you don't offer prayers for Damar or walk around carrying a red cardboard heart with the #3 in the middle you are the Devil incarnate. Stay classy America, your hypocrisy is showing.

An’ we gazed upon the chimes of freedom flashing
