wanna know why there were no protests, marches, outrage and looting when college student Tessa Major was mugged and stabbed to death by 4 black teens in Morningside park ?

Because it's a pretty common occurrence...….sad yes......shocking no...…...remember the outrage when they tried to shame the dead girl by saying she was trying to buy weed ? me neither.


wanna know why cities like NY and Chicago and Los Angeles got so worked up over a man being mudered ( yes, murdered) by a Police officer in Minnesota ?  because it's so rare......the media unwittingly admits how rare it is when they recount 2 other cases this year of blacks being killed by whites , not even cops...just white people ( Arboury and that other girl who's name I cant even bother to look up)

Truth is anyone who saw the video of George Floyds death should be and was outraged, anyone who grew up in Brooklyn has also had a run in with a scumbag Cop, they exist and they are not all racists....some of them are just scumbags ( hardened by the job perhaps or just born that way). some of them are nasty bullies to everyone they encounter.

Truth also is that anyone who abides by the law ,and follows the norms and mores of society; appreciates, needs and defends the men and women of our Police Departments...…..without them we do not have a country.


I was arrested years ago for assault...…..while handcuffed an Imported Rican female Cop got in my face and was spitting with anger...she told me "this ain't the wild west, you can't go around beating up your neighbor" ….she was very tough with me in handcuffs and 5 male cops standing behind up......I was extremely drunk.....you know what I said in response ?  not a fuckin word.....because even in a drunken state I knew better......I was under arrest....and what do you do while under arrest ? you comply with the arresting officer and nothing else...…….

I went to a school that had the motto "The Truth shall set you free".....it's true, I was exonerated of all charges ( no contest actually)…...but the big X should amend that quote...…."the Truth and a Very Expensive Lawyer shall set you free"......that was 15K I will never get back, but worth every penny…….point is start drinking early everyday and wash yer fucking hands...…...sorry I forgot that Corona Virus is Old news...………..speaking of that...true story....in the 3rd race yesterday at Belmont.....PRIONER beat FAUCI by 2 lengths.....let's hope that a sign of things to come.

in the last 48 hours....two religious leaders have turned to the media to condemn the President of the United States for visiting religious sites under their purview. The both apparently can see into the Presidents heart and have the ability and the right to JUDGE his actions and motives...….impressive. Maybe, just maybe Mariann Budde ( the Diocesan Bishop for the Episcopal Church ) and Daniel Gregory ( the roman Catholic Arch Bishop of Washington) should use their powers to see into the hearts of the protestors and identify the few bad apples that are really there to loot Sneakers and Cell Phones.....that would be a great help to the Police...…...OR maybe just maybe they should be in the streets stopping those rascal bad apples from setting their churches on fire , maybe they should go the heart of the protest and share Jesus word instead of sitting on the couch, watching TV and being a Tuesday morning QB on social media.

maybe just maybe this is why so many people....myself included....have walked away from organized religion......man corrupts....we know this....the message of God is no different.....man corrupts, twists and uses the word of God to improve their own station...…the Catholic church has forever had it's hand out and in your pocket...….read the bible, follow the 10 Commandments and just live a good life.....try to make a positive impact on society......and try not to be a negative impact...…...it's okay to Hate the Islanders, but don't hate your fellow man......you can dislike those that have harmed you, but get your blood pressure up over people you have never met and probably never will...….and if it's all too confusing...….listen to the words of Tom Waits

Murphy’s law

As we talked about back in March.......it’s always about the almighty dollar.......the politicians dollars not yours.........Gov Murphy vetoed a bill that would have allowed small businesses to suspend their rent payments for 3 months.......so he ordered businesses to close and now insists that they still pay their rent......with what?  Personal savings?

But the ironic part is in his remarks on why he vetoed.

Murphy said the bill shifts the financial pain from small business to commercial landlords “ who may not be relieved of their own obligations to pay mortgage payments and property taxes”

And why not ?  Because that’s Murphy’s money..... that’s his magic money faucet....he acts as though he doesn’t have the authority to suspend property taxes on landlords so that they could in return suspend rent collection from businesses the Government overreached and illegally shut down.

I have been a staunch defender of the police on this page for ever, but there’s no excuses for the murder in Minneapolis....... the man was subdued and in handcuffs.....whatever ensued did not require placing him face down with a knee to the throat for 7 minutes....whatever he may have said or tried to do is irrelevant....he was already in cuffs.

Something is missing from the story I think......Floyd was accused of trying to pass a counterfeit $10 bill .....seriously? Who would even check on a $10 bill.......first cops on the scene were calm.....handcuffed him without incident........the cop who murdered him had to have a history with this particular person.....it’s the only explanation.......not an excuse or a defense, but an explanation.

In short, the cop with the knee should have been arrested day 1.......even as the investigation continues.

hockey revisited

leave it to the NHL to over complicate everything...….they have decided to go straight to the playoffs but because the Blackhawks, Canadiens and Rangers were all OUT of the playoffs on the final day they have decide to expand the playoffs to 24 teams ( because to be honest, nobody gives a shit about the rest of the league) ...…...the top 4 teams in each conf will play a round robin tournament against each other in order to get back in shape and reseed...…...the next 8 teams in each conf will play a best of 5 series to advance to the traditional playoffs.....strange yes.....but now here's the tricky part...….the #12 team in the conf would normally miss the playoffs and be eligible for the Draft Lottery.....maybe that's what they would prefer too......so the league has set up a potential 3 rounds of weighted lottery balls to determine the draft order to include the teams that are not in the top 24 and the teams that loose in the first round........sooooo….potentially a team like the Penguins.....#5 in the conference ( pretty good team) could get knocked out in the elimination round ( after a 3 month hiatus anything is probable let alone possible) and end up with the #1 pick in the draft.... …..the whole idea of the lottery was to prevent teams from tanking at the end.....well since they are not playing the last 20 games of the regular season that point is moot......why not just set the draft order based on the standings of March 12th in reverse order....let the worst teams pick first , move the draft up to next week and get some attention from the sports starved populace ?  I guess that would make too much sense...

well friends it's not that dire, but such an awesome song that sums up Corona 19 for so many, that I just had to use it.

Truth is , what we talked about in mid March has of course come to fruition. Gov Cuomo went to D.C. yesterday for a meeting with the President and by all accounts it went well......except for one quote by the NY State Governor that caught my attention. Cuomo praised the paycheck bill that was approved last night but then he asked a frightening question...…"it's great to support little business and allow them to continue to pay their employees but what about funding for Police ? what about funding for Fire Depts and Schools ? "

First...let's differentiate……..small business ( bars, restaurants, nail salons, etc etc) were ordered to close because they were deemed Non Essential.....that decision was made the by the states and cities ( ie walter Wilhelm)...in some cases absolut Draconian measures were taken.....in some cases personal animas came into play and local governments decided to close gun shops because hey....they don't like guns...….their decisions were not to be questioned and or debated......out of an abundance of caution they knowingly closed their states......even forbid evictions......even encouraged Mortgage Bankers to allow a 90 day deferral ( no mention of property taxes, but that's a different story) ...in any event they ALL went before the cameras to defend their decisions...ok...…..and when the President talked about restarting the economy they shouted him down...….and reminded him that it was under THEIR Authority to reopen their states....NOT the Federal Govt......ok.

Police, Fire, Transit  and School Teachers are deemed essential and have remained open and continue to get paid...…..problem is the magic waterfall the funds the never-ending pool that pays everyone has been turned OFF...…..Taxes, Taxes, Taxes.....that's where the secret $$ comes from....and when you close your state you turn off the spigot .

And so now we will begin to hear the trickles from Gov Cuomo that States like NY and NJ ( that Tax everything to Death and still manage to spend more than they could ever take in  ) for the Federal Govt to somehow fund these states...……….well just like Nancy and Schmucky Schumer insisted that any Company that accepted Govt $$ would have to allow Govt oversight ( no dividends, Bonus payments or Stock Buybacks and other ridiculous restrictions like adding minorities and women to the board of directors,,,not because they are qualified, but rather just because)….I say if any of these states are given a DIME , then their future budgets must be balanced and approved by the Fed Govt and they MUST repay every single penny...……….

This pandemic could not have been imagined a year ago......but the Civil War it may ignite has been talked about on this blog for many a years...….

now.....more importantly....the question at hand.....should I kill myself NOW,  or wait until A-Rod buys the Mets ? ?

This coupled with the loss of revenue for the last month of the season has pushed the hockey club to their own precipice of Chapter 11....we did reach out to John Ledecky for comment last night but it was the busy time for the Local Chicken Delight where he picked up a few shifts making deliveries and he was out on a run and could not be reached...…and as hockey withers and dies on the vine  our Commander in Chief has vowed to get Baseball back on the field...as the President said and i qoute " I'm tired of watching Baseball games from 14 years ago" us too Mister President.......us too.

Gov Murphy welcomes illegal immigrants with open arms......Gov Murphy wants to offer them drivers licenses, health benefits, free college and financial aid. Gov Murphy wants NJ to become a sanctuary state....he does not want NJ law enforcement cooperating with I,C.E. and or assisting the Federal Govt to  locate and deport violent criminals who are in this country illegally.

Gov Murphy also does NOT WANT New Yorkers who own second homes in the Garden State to spend time at their own homes during the Chinese Virus Pandemic....that's right...you live in Brooklyn,.....you and your spouse worked hard and saved money to buy a summer home down the shore...….you pay exorbitant Property Taxes 12 month a year ( even though you only live in the shore community for 5 or 6 months a year), a bulk of your taxes go towards the school system ( even though you send your kids to school in Brooklyn) You are every much a Citizen of NJ as I am …….but our shared Gov doesn't want you escaping the City and riding out the pandemic in the less congested area of your summer home...…...

we have reached a point where law breaking illegal immigrants are more welcome than law abiding tax paying citizens.

I often talk about hypocrisy...….and I have often wondered on these pages how America would react to our next National Crisis...…….would we rally together like 9/11 OR would it sadly further divide us ?

I think the people of this Great Country are Still Great.....and the people look for ways to help each other and not to point fingers of blame......sadly our politicians thrive on and feed off discourse....the sow the seeds of anger and stir the pot of animosity, and I doubt that will change in my lifetime.

I consider the real quarantine of having started on Monday March 16th (when the bars closed) which would make today  DAY 13 ……..stay safe, wash your hands .

when does it stop ? lets follow the $$$ and the hypocrisy of our locally elected officials....let's use club Gato as an example.

Gov Mutphy says Club Gato has to shut down......and so Head Bartender Matteau Matteau is laid off.....and Gov Murphy says that the Feds should give him unemployment.....OK...….but as the owner of Club Gato I still have to pay rent....so Gov Murphy says the Federal Govt should give my small business an interest free loan so I can continue to make payroll and pay my rent...…..that's what is called throwing good money after bad …...continuing to pay bills to stay afloat even though we are closed and there is no revenue stream......so how about we tell the property owners  and the banks to suspend rent collections and mortgages since we are ALL in this together ?...…...and the property owner in turn has a reasonable request...how about you forgive and suspend my property taxes so I can suspend rent collection and my tenant can use emergency funds to pay his staff ?

and that my friends is where I predict this Hysteria will end...….when the local Govts are asked to do their share instead of just holding daily press conferences and blaming the President....when they  realize that there are NO sales tax being collected because nothing is being sold , no Hotel occupancy Taxes because the city is shut down, and when the pressure is on for them to forgive Property taxes to keep business alive OR God Forbid slash their own budgets to be more in line with the $$$ they collect.....THAT is when it will suddenly become OK to reopen Bars and Restaurants...….and I seriously think that we will hit that point next week.....and the Bars will slowly reopen the following week....perhaps with reduced max occupancy....and perhaps restuarants will be asked to reduce and spread out seating....and we can get back to being a country....and guess what ?  a lot of people will get the Corona Virus....and guess what ? a lot of elderly people and those with underlying conditions will die.....but guess what ?  That's OK...….that's normal.....that's the life cycle.....it happens every year with the regular FLU...….WE NEED TO MOVE ON !


nice side note......Nice move yesterday by the private sector automobile makers....Ford, Tesla and GM all said they would convert assembly lines to produce ventilators and or whatever was asked of them....that my friends is American Spirit......THAT is our Country Digging out of the Rubble....next step is let the healthy people Get Back to Work......keep my stimulus check.....give it to the folks who should stay home as a precaution....give to the unemployment benefits for those business that it's too late to save.....but let the rest of us save this fucking country before it is too Late....I would rather catch the disease and even die while doing my part for America than live with my head under the bed

well it's dark out there but certainly not as bad as the media is playing it out to be, and if we learnt anything from Mama Cass and the Momma's and the Papa's we should know that the darkest hour is just before the dawn.

I have used this space to praise, promote and defend our dear Leader...but today I have to weigh in with a dissenting voice. The proposal to send over 500 billion in checks to every American is lunacy...not every American is in the same canoe....I am working from home, getting paid and maintaining my benefits.....I do NOT need a check for $1,000 at this time...….my thoughts, fears and concerns rest with the people that suddenly awoke to find themselves unable to work …..our bartenders, waiters, chefs, stadium concessioners, barbers, tour guides, hotel staff and all the industries that are being forced to shut down amid this Corona Virus...…..sadly a large % of these folks were working off the books and surviving on Tips ….these folks due to no fault of their own are in crisis....with Federal, State and Local Governments overreaching and trampling the Constitutions and ordering these places of business to shutter.

I suggest using that 500 billion to increase and extend unemployment benefits and to allow "off the Book" workers to file as well......that goes against everything I normally stand for, but desperate times call for desperate measures.... …..will there be fraud ? Yes an abundance......will the people that need it the most receive a helping hand or lifeline ? ? Yes they will......and so it must be done....let's get through this …..let that bartender file an unemployment claim and even though his employer may be illegally paying him off the books, offer them both amnesty and just get through this stretch...is that going to solve the cirisis ? no...….but as the richest and most advanced capitalist society we should set the example and show that we take care of our own......don't send me a check, it won't stimulate the economy if there is nothing open that I can spend it on anyway...….offer low or zero interest loans to small business, and take an ownership stock in the airlines, hotels, fracking companies and other larger business that need it...…...let us the billions in BUYBACK shares to post as collateral and when everyone has recovered let the Corporations buy the shares back from the Government at a profit for the American people...…….that's what the misnamed bailout of the financial system was really all about in 2008.....the Feds turned an incredible profit at the hands of Morgan Stanley and others...…...do it again where needed.

well today is a strange day.....let the record show for all eternity that society has collapsed on Thursday March 12th 2020.....as the Sant Johns Redmen were battling Creighton in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament...a noon tipoff before family and friends only.....the markets were in freefall over the Corona , My sharona, virus.....the markets dropped 2,000 points on the heels of a 1,400 pt drop the prior day......the Big Ten cancelled their tournament.....followed by the ACC......preceeded by the NBA....and the NHL was preparing to play in empty stadiums.....and the Johnnies played on, leading by as many as 8 points..……..Governor Cuomo banned events for more tha 500 people.....and Murphy said hold my beer.....and quickly banned events tallying 250 or more..... Lake Como NJ announced that they would be changing their name Back to South Belmar because they didn't want to be associated with Italy, and Corona beer said they would temporarily change the name of their signature beer to Limey Lagers......the markets halted....reopened.....and dropped again...…...the NHL then suspended the remainder of their season and the Johnnies went to Halftime with a 3 point lead...…..and then they Cxld the 2nd half.....and on and on it goes...…..major league baseball pushes opening day back 2 weeks at least......and still the dow tumbled...….not sure I can remember anything quite like this......had a similar feeling in the week or so after 9/11 with the constant rolling of sad news and losses....and a little like the credit crisis of 2008 with stocks falling and falling and falling......just weird and shocking...…..still less than 1,500 cases in a country of 300 million...….I still feel it will be the overreaction that is remembered and NOT the impact of the virus itself......what would be so terrible if the entire country had the flu for a week....we'd get over it , right ?....and so as I watch the post-market shows over a glass of delicious beer in club Gato, I feel a slight fever developing, but alas it might just be that I am too close to the Wheel.

So as I was enjoying a cool refreshing beer on one of NJT’s slow trains last night and contemplating the 2,000 point beat down the Dow took....I think  figured something out that brought a wide smile to my face......on Sunday the Saudi Arabian dynasty choose to flood the market with cheap oil after an agreement with the Russians fell apart.....that sent global markets into a nosedive.......but President Trump didn’t seem bothered....in fact he tweeted that this was good news for consumers as Gas prices would drop......and then I thought about who would suffer the most from this oil price plummet? 

Iran of course.....a regime already in trouble could possibly fall..... the Iranian people ( the non religious fanatics) are already furious with the revolutionary guard shooting down a civilian plane by mistake.......and the outbreak and coverup of the corona virus....coupled with the squandering of cash to fund hezbollah and other terrorist organizations , all while their infrastructure crumbles.....could this be the final straw that breaks the ayatollahs’ back ??

That would make the US and Saudis very happy....and if it further isolates North Korea and inflicts some financial hardship on the Russians ? Well those are just added benefits......perhaps 41 years after those scumbags attacked our embassy we will finally get that Regime change!
