“Strike three,” the umpire said
Batter have to go back and sit down ( Dylan)
so there i was lying awake at 1:30 a.m. wondering to myself why I did NOT use this lyric for yesterdays post about attending an Oakland A's game with Jim Catfish Hunter on the mound.... i suppose because it is such a rare gem from Mr Dylan , and a slow bluesy one at that: that is was not on the frontal lobe of my memory bank....i am sure some of my loyal readers were puzzled as well.....somedays i am truly a day late and a dollar short.
anyway, i did NOT go to the game today.......heading to Stricklands Steak House in Woodbridge to have a Porterhouse at the Bar in the Air Conditioning a few pints and a glass of Cabernet.........i can watch that punk lindor on the flat screen .......but i'll be thinking about Bando, Gene Tenace , Rudi and of course Darold Knowles who appeared in all 7 games of the 1973 Fall classic...
2+3=BEEER
sing it Bob
Reggie Jackson at the plate
Seein’ nothin’ but the curve
Swing too early or too late
Got to eat what Catfish serve
Swing too early or too late
Got to eat what Catfish serve
Catfish, million-dollar-man
Nobody can throw the ball like Catfish can
